Samsung Tocco Icon Review: In Depth

Recombu
10 July 2011
  • Conclusion: Online the Tocco Icon retails for around £80 - a relatively low price considering you get WiFi and some useful - and has some really interesting features for anyone keen on social networking. Although this puts this in the same category as the Vodafone Smart, which offers Android and 3G and the Orange Stockholm, which are both superior phones.

Samsung Star II Review

Phone Arena
15 March 2011
  • Conclusion: with the Samsung Star II is quite satisfying. We heard the voices in the earpiece rather clear, and its volume is enough too. On the other end our friends could hear us well, too, with no weird distortions. The doesn't have official talk times yet, but the handset behaved typically for a feature phone, lasting more than two days of average use before the charge diminished significantly.
  • Pros: Inexpensive, Decent camera quality
  • Cons: Laggy interface, No 3G or GPS

  • Summary: The first Samsung mobile handset I reviewed was a clamshell unit that could automatically open and close itself at the press of a button. It also came with two battery packs. Neither of these features can be found with this next Samsung handset.

  • Conclusion: The Samsung Tocco Icon has some good things going for it, but at a price that's getting close to a budget smart phone, you'll really need to love the way it looks to part with your cash for it.
  • Pros: Svelte good looks, okay camera
  • Cons: Limited functionality compared to an entry level smartphone

Samsung Tocco Icon

Pocket Lint
27 July 2011
  • Conclusion: Overall, the Samsung Tocco Icon isn't a massive step up from the Tocco Lite, but the inclusion of a capacitive touchscreen is certainly a compelling reason to buy if you liked the original phone. The compact chassis, slick design and ease of use also add to the package, while the features such as the straightforward audio player and the sneaky fake call function may appeal to some.
  • Pros: Compact, slick design, good call quality, affordable, easy to use, large screen
  • Cons: Poor screen resolution, tiny memory, basic apps, small onscreen keys
