Summary: I have owned this phone originally for YEARS (at least 5), and love it, BUT since I bought this new one, I had nothing but problems - from not being able to transfer all my contact info (mind you, it's going from the same phone to a newer same phone), to suddenly not being able to receive texts nor voice-mails.
Summary: I have had the phone for about 2 months now. Phone works fine. Only complaint is the lack of dialing features. It is almost impossible and dangerous to try to make calls while driving. I didnt think they made phones with out easy dialing features but this one has none! It takes a minimum of 5 screen selections to place a call! That is ridiculous!! Samsung WTH were you thinking!!!????!!! If it wasnt for this one issue I would give it 5 stars. IMHO this is a big issue.
Summary: I purchased it for a friend and when I opened the box I was disappointed. It is small but very light. I was afraid I would break it especially opening it to put the battery and sim in. But can't complain too much because that's was what I got for the price. She seemed to like it because it serves her purpose. So it's OK. Next day she called and told me she loves her phone. I am happy!!
Summary: My daughter and I got this same phone several years ago on my phone plan. We loved everything about it. I am still using my original one after 3 years and it still going strong. My daughter got her's wet and it stopped working properly. So we were thrilled to see that you could still buy one. We purchased this one and it arrived quickly. It seem great until you plug it in to charge.
Summary: This particular phone doesn't work quite as well as the original one. My biggest complaint is that the touch on the screen isn't consistent and when you try to back space to remove a mistake it skips all over the place. Other wise i still like it. The old one was better and I loved it.
Summary: It is my fault that this was just ok for me. I was looking for a phone to get me to my contract renewal. This was just so far removed from a smart phone....duh, right? But I just didn't realize how much it would matter to me. Otherwise, this phone functioned exactly as expected, arrived just as expected which was in its sealed box...never been opened. Brand new, arrived before expected.
Summary: I was ready to move from my "prehistoric" flip phone in the direction of to-days smart phones. All I really wanted was something with a touch screen that I could load some music onto, so I could leave my MP3 player at home when I travel. The Solstice A887's listed features, along with the Samsung reputation for quality, appeared to indicate this device would allow me to take that first step towards the 21st century, (technologically speaking).
