Excerpt: When I first took a look at this phone, the Samsung Gleam, I thought, "This is great! It is sleek, trim, will be easy to slip in and out of my pocket & purse!" Well was ever I wrong! Yes, it is easy to slip in and out of places, but it also slips easily out of your hands! So after 1 and a half years, I had to pay the replacement cost because it had 'slipped' out of my hands so many times. I would think twice again about acquiring this little gem.
Excerpt: My phone is very cute but my activity is limited. I can only use Facebook. All other sites take about 5-10 minutes to load. So I rarely use the web unless I am playing games. The numbers on this phone are so small. If i am not paying attention I will call wrong number at least 3 times a day. It's so similar to a Blackberry but no where near as sweet. This phone would have been cool if it had a small track ball.
Summary: A really nice sleek looking phone, however it was bought in February and by September the slide stopped working. I got no sound from the phone. I changed the part and one week later the touch pad stopped working, so...that meant being unable to make calls, answer calls and send text messages. What a disappointment because I need a new phone again and a year has not even gone by.
Summary: This phone is a real head-turner. I never cease to get comments on it. It is probably one of the best values in a G3-capable phone, and with an added memory card (very cheap) is a great MP-3 player and high-capacity camera (both still and video). But it really blows it when it comes to intuitive operation. It does a lot, but to figure out how to do it--UNBELIEVABLY COMPLICATED--and much more difficult than my previous Samsung phones.
Excerpt: I purchaised this phone 2 months back and sold it off after 3 weeks for less than half prise due to various reasons. 1. very poor battery (not even last for 24 hrs) 2. serious network problems. i gave this phone for repairs in EROS electricals, after repair also their is no change in the defects. So i advis not to touch this phone................
Excerpt: I vowed not to purchase anther Samsung phone again, since, it cannot withstand my lifestyle and it is much more difficult to locate a repair station for Samsung phones, even its spare parts are very hard to find. And to add insult to injury, the phones silver exterior started chipping off. It reacts badly to sweat, and with continued use, the screen’s border starts to chip off, which will reveal a plastic exterior instead of a steel one.
Excerpt: After 2 months, it was back to the service center for again, the same reason. Now after 3 months, it’s again showing the same problem. In fact, I am now using it without a volume. I’m thinking of replacing it with a new one, and not returning it to the service center anymore. After all, the problem just keeps on returning. And next time I buy a cellular phone, I wont go for the looks anymore. I’ll go for durability instead of style.
Summary: I like this phone a lot more then what I had previously. It's sleek, slim, and has great graphics. One complaint that I do have is that I have to open the phone every time I need to check the time on it. Unlike most other phones I ever had, that would display the time on the front LCD by simply pushing one of the keys on the side of the phone. It's more of a convince thing for me. My other complaint would be the battery life.
