Samsung focus I917

Amazon Customer "J. F.", Amazon
9 March 2013
  • Summary: Pro: amazing amoled screen display. Really beautiful, smooth in hand. Response speed fast. Keyboard nice and neat. Wifi works great, I have Verizon Quantun, takes seconds to download apps. Some WELL BUILT functions for you to organize your phone feature. Price reasonable and quality better than IPhone. Con: battery drains fast. Need to have spare battery if you are a heavy user. Window Apps are far fewer than android market could offer.

Phone died after updates added

B.Royal, Amazon
5 November 2012
  • Summary: We purchased this phone in September--delivered on September 19. Was working great until this past Saturday when we decided to "update" the phone as per the "update" messages on the phone. As soon as the updates were complete and the computer screen gave the OK to use the phone again, we turned it on and then the phone went crazy!!!! It kept turning itself on and off. We called Samsung directly and they had us hard boot the phone.

This is a great chocie if you want an unlocked smart phone!

Andy, Amazon
29 September 2012
  • Summary: Updated: Phone doesn't always charge when plugged-in and for whatever reason Zune doesn't recognize it anymore. Just buy an iPhone. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I was a long time iPhone user and for whatever reason became really curious about the Windows phone platform. All in all it's a very nice interface. I prefer over Apple and Droid. The phone itself is great.

  • Summary: The cell phone's mailing package was seal when I picked up. But the cell phone box seal was already opened when I opened external package warping. Carefully inspected every component, I think cellphone itself was maybe not used, but the paper holder had tears, indicating the unit had been taken out and put back. Battery was seades in the plastic wrapping. Charger looked not used but was not wrapped. Headphone was put in original plastic pouch. But seal was broken.

Had to RMA

Phong T., Newegg
3 February 2012
  • Pros: Love WP7!
  • Cons: There was a line of dead pixels on the left corner, but everything else was fine. Knowing that Newegg's RMA process was smooth, I went ahead and did it. The one I got back was clearly used, and the headphones pack was even labelled "used & not working". Newegg, I still love you, but you disappoint me.

WP7:B+ | Focus:C | Samsung Support:F

Brett H., Newegg
4 March 2011
  • Summary: I am disappointed that I took a chance on getting this phone and loved it for the first four months. It came back to bite me when I had to rely on Samsung to fix it. When it works it is great. When it doesn't you are on your own.
  • Pros: I enjoyed this phone when I first got it. I love Microsoft's Windows Phone OS. It is easy to use and very good at what it does. There are some noticeable features missing. First is that you cannot add a video to an MMS. Second, cannot connect to a wireless network that is not broadcasting its SSID.
  • Cons: The worst aspect of this phone is the support from Samsung. I sent the phone into Samsung because my volume down button stopped working. They wanted to charge me one hundred and fifty dollars to fix it because the LCD connection was corroded. How does the LCD affect the volume button?!?!? And how is this not covered under warranty?!?!? And how could this happen in just four months?!?! In the end I had them send it back unfixed and I am never buying a Samsung product a...
