Samsung Omnia i900 Review: In Depth

Recombu
23 May 2009
  • Excerpt: Samsung's first major Windows Mobile touchscreen effort boasts a 5-megapixel camera and good video and music playback. We took the Omnia out for a spin to see if it mixes business with pleasure well or if it’s just another underwhelming touchscreen phone. What we like The Samsung Omnia is an attractive phone with a large screen that’s good for viewing pictures and videos on.

Samsung Omnia SGH-i900

PC Magazine
23 April 2009
  • Conclusion: The high-end Samsung Omnia's whole is decidedly less than the sum of its parts, with poor software design and a high price overshadowing its many positive attributes.
  • Pros: Solid, feature-rich 5-megapixel camera. Good Web browser. Stellar battery life. DivX support.
  • Cons: Very expensive. No 3G. Plenty of bugs and interface inconsistencies. No place to put the stylus—and you'll need one.

Samsung Omnia Review

  • Summary: This is a phone for the high end market. At Rs 35,999, it's still very expensive. Buy it only if you want the flaunting features like the GPS and the 5 MP camera.

Samsung Omnia (Verizon Wireless)

LAPTOP Magazine
14 January 2009
  • Summary: The Samsung Omnia’s value begins and ends with how capable you are at navigating Windows Mobile with your fingertips. From Mobile Office to Wi-Fi to GPS, there’s plenty of technology and functionality here for the sophisticated business user. But if you don’t have a light and precise touch—or you don’t like to use a stylus—you’ll grow frustrated quickly.
  • Pros: 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen, 5-MP camera and excellent video recorder, Good battery life, 8GB internal memory, Visual voicemail,
  • Cons: Windows Mobile 6.1 unsuited for finger touch, Too many user interfaces, Stylus attached via lanyard, No 3.5mm stereo headphone jack,

Samsung SGH-i900 (Omnia)

What Hi-Fi?
25 May 2009
  • Excerpt: At the heart of the Samsung SGH-i900, or Omnia as it's also known, is Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional. Masking this operating system is Samsung's own ‘Touchwiz' user interface. Touchwiz is a much more palatable system than the painful Windows offering, with large colourful graphics and icons making up the simple menu system. To help with ease of use, the screen also incorporates haptic technology, which acknowledges every key press with a small vibration.
  • Pros: Feature-packed, decent interface
  • Cons: Windows Mobile is a clunky operating system, strange stylus, average picture and sound quality

Samsung SGH-i900 Omnia

Airgamer
7 May 2009
  • Pros: Exzellente Ausstattung, XXL-Touchscreen, Vollwertige Navigation, Speicherplatz satt
  • Cons: Kompliziertes Bedienungskonzept, Eingabestift nicht im Gerät integriert, Für klassische Java-Games kaum geeignet
