Ribbon cables breaks, stay away.
5 March 2013
Summary: I really like this phone. I received my first one from AT&T and it lasted 2 years and was great. Unfortunately the last 2 I have purchased both crapped out on me in vary short time. The ribbon cable on these phones wear out & since the phone is now an old model I believe most of the ribbon cables will break very quickly as mine have. You might have better luck but I would stay away from this phone. Too bad to, because I really liked it when it worked.
Excerpt: I had my phone for 4 months before the alarm stopped working. 5 months before you couldn't hear people who called without putting them on speaker. 6 months before it randomly restarted itself repeatedly. Horrible phone. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
Excerpt: I have four of these phones and have nothing but trouble. I have returned all of them twice and they hve been replaced with the same model. I am gonna b returning it for the third time. They freeze (screen and keyboard), shut off consistently, loose calls like crazy. I would not recommend. Reviewer received a sample of this product.
Excerpt: I purchased a new Samsung Impression phone 4 days ago and I returned it today. The phone has myriad problems. First, the lock/unlock key is difficult to use-every time you push it the qwerty keyboard starts to pop out. This is very awkward because you have to press and HOLD the key to unlock your phone. Secondly, if you send or receive 10 or more texts, the phone just shuts down. Thirdly, if you don't use the phone for several hours, it quits. I dialed out around...
Excerpt: In August I made a switch. I "upgraded" from a Palm Centro to a Samsung Impression. Bad mistake for a number of unforeseen reasons: The camera on it is really good. The phone has some great features, like 2 touch keyboards along with the slider keyboard. It reminds me a lot of a Mac - there is more than one way to get anywhere on the phone. Because it is a touch screen with minimal case protection of the screen, it's really important that the phone be in a case.
Excerpt: The Samsung Impression, aka the Samsung SGH-A877, is a cell phone that I purchased full price due to not renewing a contract and thankfully I got insurance on my phone. I was attracted to the phone due to the brilliant display, user friendly menu, and touch screen technology in addition to a slide spacious keyboard. This phone is a very sturdy phone. Upon purchasing, the color scheme is eye-catching and appealing.
Excerpt: When I was choosing my next phone about a year ago, this seemed like a good choice. I previously owned the Propel, until somehow- magically- it got wet, and wouldn't work on the most important button. I got the Impression and it worked okay until June this past summer. It had only worked well for about eight months until it decided to mess up on me. I know I'm not the only one who had these problems, at least three people I know had theirs messing up too.
Excerpt: Our family was in the market for new cellphones, after being with T-Mobile for years and not being satisfied with the lack of promotions they were offering to keep us as a customer, so we switched to AT&T. We excitedly visited AT&T and checked out the new phones. The Samsung Impression stood out because it had various features that appealed to both my husband and I, as well as our teen daughter. We liked the touchscreen, and the keyboard was awesome.
Excerpt: This phone was a nightmare! It worked great for the first couple weeks, maybe even a month...but after that, it was a disaster! If you use the touch screen for texting, it was much too slow, and would often leave out words because it could not keep up. But on the other hand, if you used the qwerty keyboard, it was okay. But still was annoying to have to open that up to send short text messages.
Summary: This phone slowly stopped working with our T-moble sim cards, they guy who sold it to us said they would work with AT&T or T-Moble which is a lie! Mine conpletely stopped working after 2.5 weeks and I had to go to T-Moble and get a NEW phone- SAVE YOUR MONEY DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE IT ISNT TRUELY UNLOCKED AS ADVERTISED!!!
