Samsung Impression SGH-A877

20 December 2009
  • Summary: The Samsung Impression isn't perfect, but it ranks high on our list as a messaging and multimedia phone.
  • Pros: The Samsung Impression has a brilliant touch screen, a roomy keyboard, and an intuitive design. It offers a functional midrange feature set and admirable multimedia performance and call quality.
  • Cons: The Samsung Impression has a proprietary headset jack, the camera lacks a flash, and keyboard shortcuts are few. Also, it lacks voice dialing and the promised battery life is rather short.

Samsung Impression Review

28 May 2009
  • Conclusion: Any phone running at the $199 price point on AT&T becomes an immediate competitor to the iPhone, which makes the Impression a tough sell, even as an otherwise well-rounded device. Why even consider it beside that goliath? If you don’t need all the flexibility provided by Apple’s well-groomed app store, the Impression is smaller, has a much prettier screen, a killer keyboard, and Media Net plans cost $15 a month instead of $30 for a real data plan.
  • Pros: Gorgeous OLED display; sensitive capacitive touch screen; well-built, attractive form factor; solid QWERTY keyboard
  • Cons: Hard-to-jab unlock button; no Wi-Fi; unintuitive Windows-Mobile-based interface

Samsung Impression (AT&T) Review

LAPTOP Magazine
10 April 2009
  • Summary: The AT&T Samsung Impression is one of the best messaging phones available on any carrier. Thanks to its beautiful AOLED display, 3-MP camera, and large and comfortable keyboard, the Impression will wow onlookers almost as much as the iPhone. We wish it were a bit cheaper, but the Impression is one impressive device.
