Excerpt: I have had my Samsung a837 (also known as the “Rugby”) for a week now, and I have to say that I like it a lot. It has been very user friendly, and seems to be built to last. I have watched several youtube videos of people dunking them under water, and pulling them out and they work just fine, however I am not willing to try this with mine.
Summary: Will never again buy an at&t unlocked phone. The phone is loaded down with apps that only work on at&t networks and can not be removed. The only thing the phone is good for is making phone calls. Can not connect to the web without being on at&t so these features are all but useless. The phone itself may not be so bad if it were not for the at&t apps. The only good thing is the battery life is acceptable.

Summary: I bought this phone for my mom so she could use it with her new Bluetooth earpiece. Her old phone was a free flip phone by Samsung but it would not auto-connect to the Bluetooth. This one does and it works great. Numbers are nice and big and phone is not overly complicated but it does has a nice list of features. Works great with her T-Mobile sim card. No problems with it at all- and that's great for me because I am the one who has to take care of all the tech stuff.
Samsung Rugby III--Junk-plastic not durable like the Rugby I had a year or so ago (now 10-3-2013). I would not recommend to a friend. Not what I expected. Lighter weight means less durable. I can see this thing cracking the first time it is dropped.

Summary: Inferior product. Not at all like the Rugby I had a little over a year ago. The updates to the product are terrible. Plastic, not sturdy. Extra cord "Ear Jack converter". Can't plug in my own earbuds-unless I use this extra small cord first. Based on other reviews, sound quality poor, navigation poor. Key pad not as sturdy and easy to use as the old one. This is not military spec for sure--as the first one I had was. This is a piece of plastic junk.
Cons: inferior product , plastic , not durable like last rugby , not military spec , must use ear jack converter
Summary: the phone is tough. best phone Ive ever had. great phone for anyone. what i like is i dropped it in the swimming pool in the winter fished it out with the pool net. dried it out for 2 day and it still works perfect unlike other that ive seen.
Summary: Great kid phone, if this thing can survive our 10 year old son it can survive anything. So far so good, it gets dinged up and keeps on working. Just waiting for it to fall into the pool some how.
Summary: This is the second one of these phones that I've bought. If you're someone who moves alot at work, goes camping, plays sports this is the phone for you because it's military grade. I've lost it in over a foot of snow for over 2 hours and it worked fine once I found it. I've dropped it too many times to remember and run over it with my car and like a Timex, it takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'.
Summary: This phone is definitely inferior to the Motorola flip phones I have had in the past!!!! You have to push multiple buttons to see the recent call or search for a contact to make a call. If you want a user manual, you have to print it off of the website. But my biggest complaint is that the volume is not loud enough - either for the ringer or the speaker.
