Samsung Propel, Decent Phone for first 9 months, Keys/Camera Bad

DanielJNeal, Viewpoints
9 September 2012
  • Excerpt: When I purchased this phone, I thought it would be great until it arrived in the mail and I realized how small the keys were. Being that I am a male, I do not have skinny fingers and always find myself deleting letters and retyping words quite often. The phone's camera is not that great either, but of course most of us are not purchasing a phone to use it as a camera.

Not worth buying.

  • Excerpt: Not worth buying, I currently own this phone and can't wait to buy a different phone. With call volume, it's either so loud that they're screaming into your ear, or too low so you can't comprehend what the person is saying. I wouldn't recommend it. The keyboard, just.. sucks, even though I got used to it, the way the keyboard is shaped isn't like other keyboard phones, so it takes a while to get used to.

Looks nice but performance is not that great.

  • Summary: Features are decent if you aren't after a touch screen, however the ear piece volume is less than desireable. The size is fine, the qwerty keyboard is just large enough for decent texting, after just over a year the ear piece failed and you can only hear on speaker feature. Not long after that the buttons started failing, a few days later the phone was unuseable. The quality of the phone could be much better. Sadly, they almost got it right.... but not quite.

  • Pros: Has a nice design and feel. Main thing was the QWERTY keyboard.
  • Cons: Battery life turns on you after a few months, reception also turns on you after a few months.

Dead phone??

soccerplaya47249, Ebay
11 January 2011
  • Summary: The phone worked just fine- except that it wouldn't charge. Kind of a big problem! I plugged the charging cord into the phone and it wouldn't do anything! Luckily, I had another phone that would charge the same battery so I had to charge the battery in another phone and then switch it. Big hassle. Whatever. That's what I get for buying a phone on the internet.

HORRIBLE SERVICE, HORRIBLE PHONE

Anonymous, Phone Arena
22 July 2010
  • Excerpt: I get almost no service with this phone. I get almost none at my parents' house, at my apartment, at work... basically, nowhere I need it! My family and roommates have AT&T just like I do yet they get service just fine, I guess because they have different phones instead of this piece of junk.
  • Pros: Hard to think of any... I guess the color is nice.
  • Cons: Bad Service, Poor Texting Options, Multimedia Messaging doesn't work, Few picture options, Dropped Calls

DO NOT WANT

Anonymous, Phone Arena
8 July 2010
  • Excerpt: Avoid this phone. I mean it. Seriously. My first ever cell phone decided to die on me, so ATT sent me a Propel as a replacement. Excited for its QWERTY keyboard and large size, I was pretty hopeful it'd be awesome. For a few days, it rocked. Then, it began its slow descent into suck.
  • Pros: Large overall size, Easily navigated menus, Shortcut button to text messages
  • Cons: Everything but the pros I listed

Samsung SGH A767 Propel

Anonymous, Phone Arena
21 June 2010
  • Excerpt: This phone is horrible. I have had this phone for ten month and I am definatley going to get a new one. Wen I got the Propel it worked fine. After a few weeks of use, I noticed the buttons started to stick and that it froze up frequently. I charged it every night, but the battery wouldn't stay charged. Recently my phone started shuting off when I put it down, and now I am having to constantly turn it back on. I remcoment that you do not use this phone.
  • Pros: QWERTY keyboard
  • Cons: buttons stick, freezes up, bad speakers, battery life, bad camera, small screen
