A non smart phone that works with my new car system
10 April 2013
Summary: This was the ONLY phone(besides a smart phone)I could find that would work in conjunction with my new 2013 Chrysler mini van.It has problems but at least it will connect and stay on if I don't shut down the engine or vice versa. The battery life is poor at best probably because it is an OLD new phone. The phone is hard to open and I have dropped it or missed calls trying to open it.I do wish they would make non-smart phones for those who have trouble working more...
Summary: Very poor quality. Battery compartment will not snap into place securely. You have to be a dog or Superman to hear the ring tone. Instruction booklet very vague. It tells you what things are, but not how to use the features. Samsung should stick to making TV's and entertainment products.
Summary: After time and time of trying other units, the 717 is what I'm sticking with. aside from the latency the unit shows at times when scrolling the address book or viewing video I still say it's the best unit I've used as far as a flip. for one there hasn't been very many filetypes that I have witnessed that can't be handled by the A717. ok the camera is slow, guess what? the camera is slow on almost every other unit anywhere remotely similar to the A717.
Summary: This Samsung is a relatively nice phone but the camera is difficult to use because the user must go through a litany of operations to get to the camera function. There should have been a dedicated button like the A707 which was the Samsung produced before this one. This camera took one step forward and two steps back. Also, the small display window is not large enough for useful details. Laastly, the camera itself is hard to flip open to answer calls or use for texting.
Summary: It is an upgrade from my 707. Very similar except more memory / better camera / outside screen less likely to crack. Unfortunately, the outside screen is also tiny and I have old-d-d eyes so really can't read it.
