Summary: I was looking for a phone with a keyboard to simplify texting. Not interested in a touch screen or bells and whistles - just an upgrade from my flip phone. This phone is just what I wanted. Very easy to learn to use - good camera. The phone was brand new as advertised and came with all parts and instructions. Battery holds a charge a long time.
Summary: I bought this phone in a junk store with a house charger for $7. Stuck my sim card in it, downloaded the user guide (bless you Samsung), copied my sim memory to phone memory and away I went. It has everything I need (I don't text or message because that costs money and I'm cheap (sorry kids)). I'll find a car charger in a junk store and may buy a new battery, but that's all.
JUST GOT IT, BUT SO FAR, IT'S A GREAT DEVICE FOR THE PRICE
16 September 2013
Summary: SOLID QUALITY FEEL - ATTRACTIVE- BASIC TEXTING PHONE AT A GREAT PRICE. OTHER REVIEWS I READ COMPLAINED ABOUT THE KEY SIZE. I'M ASSUMING THEY WERE COMPARING TO A SLIDE OUT KEYBOARD. IVE HAD SEVERAL PHONES WITH THIS SIZED KEYBOARDS INCLUDING A BLACKBERRY PEARL. IN MY OPINION THERE'S NOT A NOTICEABLE DIFFERENCE IN SIZE.
THIS IS MY 2ND SAMSUNG A 177 AND MY EXPERIENCE WITH BOTH HAS BEEN POSITIVE

Summary: THIS IS THE SECOND SAMSUNG A 177 I HAVE OWNED AND A PHONE THAT I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL OUT THERE. I AM NOT A TECHNO WIZARD AND THIS PHONE WAS MADE JUST BEFORE ALL THE NEW PHONES NOW GOT SO TECHNICAL I DONT GET ANY OR UNDERSTAND ANY OF THEM. THE SAMSUNG A 177 I JUST GOT IS A 2009 MODEL, YET I GOT IT BRAND NEW OUT OF THE BOX AND COULDNT BE HAPPIER.
Summary: This is a terrific phone for those who just want a no frills, $8/month GoPhone service. If you just need a phone to use occasionally, text a bit, check your emails sometimes, you just cannot beat this phone and the price and annual fee (which rolls over. BTW). The keyboard has tiny keys, but you do not need to be perfect because it is smart enough to gauge the pressure on the most likely key pressed. It has a decent camera, but not high res.
Summary: It was supposedly unlocked, but it is not. The phone itself is in great shape, and I am sure that it will be fine once I find someone to unlock it for me. But I am going to have to pay them to do it, which I am sure will cost more than the phone itself did in the first place - which kind of spoils the whole point of having purchased a cheap phone to begin with. If someone is going to say that they product is "unlocked", then it really needs to be completely UNLOCKED.
