Excerpt: I recently purchase the AT&T Samsung SGH-a117 at a local discount store. As far as I know it is a Pay-As-You Go Phone on the AT&T network. I’m probably one of the few consumers choses not become a part of a contract, so the Pay-As You Go Plans work …
Great for someone who just wants a phone. Outstanding price.

Summary: My wife and I are retirees. We don't Text. We don't film movies or snap pictures with our phones. All we use them for is to telephone one another or for long distance calling. This phone is perfect for this. Be careful, though.
Excerpt: I bought this phone for $55 with a $20 rebate in August 2008. The main and only reason I bought the phone was it was among the cheaper range and I wanted a phone which has a flap. I like its display telling me who's calling and I can just open the flap to answer the call. But you can reject the call...
Perfect uncomplicated cellphone for my prepaid plan.

Summary: This is my 3rd Samsung A117 phone. My last one got soaked (exact method not suitable for a public forum.......). No fancy cameras (I have 2 Nikons for photo work should I wish to take a nice photo). No bluetooth stuff. (I avoid jabbering behind the wheel). The wife loves hers too.
Summary: Phone is a good basic phone. Not for those who want all the bells and whistles! The only problem I have is with the back battery cover. It seems to be ill fitted and wants to come off when in your pocket.
