Excerpt: I recently purchase the AT&T Samsung SGH-a117 at a local discount store. As far as I know it is a Pay-As-You Go Phone on the AT&T network. I’m probably one of the few consumers choses not become a part of a contract, so the Pay-As You Go Plans work …
Excerpt: We all love phones dont we...especially teenagers we are known for always having our mobile phones at hand with us no matter where we go... New phones is what i like seeing..and i like updating myself as often as possible.. Samsung and many other brands have regularily met my expectations each time they announce an arrival of a new product... However when the Samsung A117 came out...i wasnt so enthusiastic about it however, i decided to get one.
Excerpt: This phone has lasted for about 4 years in my family. It has gone through so many drops and it's still in good condition. Texting is easy and finding things on the phone is easy especially network services. Good for calls as well is light and is a little bulky but can still fit in my pocket.
Excerpt: This phone is a nice phone for those who want just a phone without any games and other stuff. Battery life is excellent, nice design, good buttons. Menu could be improved, you need to go through a lot of menu's before you find what you want. The only big disadvantage: the back lid comes off really easy so also the battery.
Excerpt: I can not tell a lot of this cellphone,However I like Samsung company, and I think is one of the best electronics company. I bought Samsung- SGH-A117 just for $50. And use him just for calling already 5 years. Is the longest use of my all cellphones which I had before.I strongly recomended it!!!!
Excerpt: This phone is bound to get water damage if you live in a humid area or something of that matter. There is a white dot on the back and the company says it's not under warranty when it has water damage. I just got my replacement phone from the last one with water damage so the company said and turns out they replaced it with this same phone and....
Great for someone who just wants a phone. Outstanding price.

Summary: My wife and I are retirees. We don't Text. We don't film movies or snap pictures with our phones. All we use them for is to telephone one another or for long distance calling. This phone is perfect for this. Be careful, though. If you drop this phone often enough on hard concrete, the screen is likely to shatter. That's true of almost any phone, though, and my old fingers don't hold on to things as well as when I was younger, so this is my third one of this model.
Excerpt: I bought this phone for $55 with a $20 rebate in August 2008. The main and only reason I bought the phone was it was among the cheaper range and I wanted a phone which has a flap. I like its display telling me who's calling and I can just open the flap to answer the call. But you can reject the call if you activate this setting(Open to Answer in Extra Settings). :) A main problem I found about this phone is you have to manually copy one contact at a time to the SIM.
