Noah's Samsung SCH-U470-Juke Red review

6 March 2008
  • Summary: Verizon Wireless already offers the Samsung u740 for messaging addicts who don't want a full-on smartphone, and now they've added to the low/mid-range with the Juke.  A cost-conscious, high-style musicphone, Juke offers an excellent music player with an iPod-like scroll wheel and 2GB of storage in a unique, swivel form factor.

Samsung Juke SCH-u470 Review

20 February 2008
  • Conclusion: Samsung should be commended for creating an affordable, sole purpose phone. The problem is that the sound quality is weak. Discounts make the price comparable to an iPod Shuffle, but music connoisseurs should just pony up another $100 and get a better music phone.
  • Pros: Great price; clean design; pick up and play
  • Cons: Throwaway camera; below-average speakers

Samsung Juke SCH-u470

PC Magazine
23 January 2008
  • Conclusion: The Samsung Juke fuses a cute fashion phone with a WMA-compatible music player. But if you're looking for a lot of additional features, you won't find them here.
  • Pros: Cute, unusual design. Seamless compatibility with Windows Media Player.
  • Cons: Average call quality. Lacks a 3.5mm headset jack.

Samsung Juke

20 January 2008
  • Summary: The Samsung Juke SCH-U740 is a very stylish phone that will turn heads when you're out on the town, but its lack of features ultimately disappoints.
  • Pros: The Samsung Juke SCH-U740 is a sexy, fashionable phone with an unusual design. It has an easy-to-use mechanical scroll wheel, plus features such as a built-in music player.
  • Cons: The Samsung Juke SCH-U740 is sadly lacking in features, with no 3G or V Cast support and no expandable memory slot. There's no video camera, plus it has a few annoying design flaws such as slick buttons and the need to turn the phone upside down to read the screen when it's closed.

Samsung Juke Review

3 November 2007
  • Conclusion: The Samsung Juke is a good affordable music player cell phone. Its 2GB memory will let you store a fair number of MP3 songs (roughly 600 basic songs) and its thin candy bar design is stylish and will slip easily in your pocket. But if you want a phone that's highly functional and will help you stay productive, look elsewhere. The Juke's form factor is perfect for a music player but not extremely appropriate for a cell phone.
  • Pros: The Samsung Juke has a full-featured music player., It is lightweight, thin, and narrow., The sound quality is above average.
  • Cons: Given the small size, text messaging is not as easy as it usually is on other phones., It does not have a memory extension card slot. However it does have a 2GB internal memory., It takes a while to get used to the swivel system.
