Summary: Any insider at a Telco will tell you that they have huge margins on the phones they sell. For some smaller Telcos, the profits they make selling phones dwarfs their profits from voice/text consumption. Well, this is NOT a "smart phone" - its a "semi-smart" phone, esp since it doesn't let one download Android or Iphone apps.
Summary: I researched for days about the best type of phone to by that was NOT a smartphone. I didn't want to pay for the data plans or be tied to that type of access to the internet at all times. This phone is GREAT for my needs. The buttons are intuitive and easy manipulate. My only complaint is that it is NOT easy to lock the phone....you have to go through many screens to activate the security lock EACH time.
Summary: I chose this because it an okay product. The only thing was that I didn't get it on time. Over all its a good phone. One of the keys is a little messed up and there's some scratches and bumps on it but it work good. I kinda wish it was in a little better condition but i understand its a used phone.
Summary: Pretty good phone, had to reset if a couple times because it was malfunctioning, have to update roaming capabilities if you go into a different town. This is now my sons toy phone because I changed providers.
Excerpt: The Samsung Intensity or sch-u450 is a very okay phone. This phone has some very good qualities. My son who is 13 years loves this phone sometimes. This phone has a QWERTY keyboard which is good for my sons avid texting. LOL! This phone has a 3.0 Megapixel Camera. The only problem with this phone is that you cant zoom in very much. Which stinks. Also you can't take video. This phone has speed dial, which is great if you have a lot of contacts.
Excerpt: My wife picked out this phone for me after ours were both on their last legs. It's a nice looking little phone and the sound quality is pretty good. My wife's phone has been great with battery life and she only charges hers every few days. Mine, however, does not seem to be the same. It seems to lose juice pretty quickly and I'm not sure why since I know I use mine less than she does. The slide out keyboard is ok, but it's not something I use often.
Excerpt: I requested this phone for Christmas because I thought it would be free with my new plan. Not only was it not free, but it cost more than the phone I really wanted. Besides the initial pricing issues, the phone fell apart for the first time the day I had it, and the case would not stay on. Since then I have discovered that the back of the case is made from very thin plastic and doesn't stay on very well. One of the buttons has also stopped working.
Excerpt: I think the cricket phone: Samsung Messanger r450 which is now discontinued. Is great for talk and text only. In the contact information section, you only have a space for their name and number. You can't even put someone address in, or save their birthdate. You only have space for work, mobile, home numbers. I heard it like that for all their phones. Don't quote me. I hate their web features.
Thanks for the Samsung Intensity son...I love you!

Excerpt: My son gave me a Samsung Intensity (SCH-u450). I'd been wanting to upgrade from my Razr with something that had a keyboard. I'd been shopping around on the internet, when my son gave me the Samsung. I like the phone. It's compact and light weight. It has an adequate screen and comes with the usually bell and whistles like speakerphone, mobile web, a camera, etc. What I don't like about it is that it has no video camera.
Excerpt: I was given my Samsung Messgenger SCH-U450 from Verizon. It is a pretty cheap phone. There are really no bells and whistles. The volume seems to be okay. The sliding feature of the phone seems to work out pretty well. I like having that there to text with. I also opted for the Verizon Wireless Navigator, which is like a fake GPS thing. It doesn't seem to be very accurate, but I believe that to be a product of Verizon and not Samsung.
