Summary: I was told when I bought the phone that the charging cable could be used to transfer photos from the phone to my computer. Not. Since we don't have a data plan with our phone (& prefer not to have one) the only way to transfer pix is via text or the internet. We are both disappointed since we both bought the Gustos. Other than that it's a practical, handy dandy phone. Recommend to a friend? It depends on what they're looking for.
Summary: ....as a charging 'dock' for the extra batteries that I purchased so that I always have a fresh one handy. My local Verizon store wanted $80 (approx.) for a portable charging station for my phone (they don't make a stand alone battery charger for this model) so this is a far better and less expenxive option.
Summary: I have had this phone for 18 months and it has seen some hard work, and yet it keeps on working! I love that it doesn't crack the screen if it is dropped accidentally, also that it tolerates a damp and dusty environment without complaint. Thank you Samsung for making a basic phone for us hard laborers!
