Samsung Haven; A Good Phone for Old Timers that still like to talk
6 days ago
Summary: The Samsung Haven is a great phone for older people that only need to talk on the phone and text from time to time. Easy to use and uncomplicated with limited options. Large easy to read text and large buttons as well as audible message alerts and voice activated commands make it ideal for seniors and basic users alike. Very basic tools include Calendar, Alarm Clock, and Calculator. Basic accessories include speaker phone, and wired ear-piece. No data or Web capability.
Summary: Great phone for my mother-in-law. Big numbers & easy to use. I put her on Page Plus Cellular 2000 Minutes. Good for 365 days @ $80. Works out to 0.04 per minute & I can add minutes online if she needs more.
Summary: This phone is perfect, for me! I needed a basic phone for staying in touch and in case of emergency. I wanted something that I could see and hear well. This phone does that. I like the big fonts and big buttons. I activated this on the PagePlus network, and for $80 I get 1-year of service at 4 cents per minute, this is now my 3rd year on that plan, and I never use up the minutes, so the balance rolls over, can't beat it if you only need a phone for security,$80 per year!
Not for my 93 year old mother. Buttons not good for her to use.

Summary: I bought this for my 93 year old mother. She does have a difficult time getting into the directory because of arthritus in her fingers. It is very easy for her to bump th e911 button. I thought it would be good for her because of the bigger display but the buttons are just not big enough or the shape isn't right for her to use comfortably. I had a razor for her before & she had no problems with the buttons on that, but the screen went blank.
Summary: This phone has a full sized keypad with domed buttons. The characters on both screens are much larger than usual, which makes it alot easier to see who is calling while you are driving. Voice clarity and call volume are excellent. There is no camera or bluetooth. To answer the phone, you simply open it, but closing the phone will not end the call. You have to press "end" to end the call, or it releases when the other person hangs up.
