Excerpt: Finally, the days of "inevitable compromises" are over for PDA/phone combos. The Samsung SPH-i500 ($600 street, plus monthly service fees), from Sprint PCS, is the first PDA phone you can hold to your ear without look-ing like a geek. Sure, we have wish-list items that aren't included (such as a digital camera, a removable-memory slot, a QWERTY keyboard, and a speakerphone), but that doesn't diminish Samsung's impressive accomplishment.
Conclusion: Do I recommend the Samsung Mesmerize? First off, it’s better than the Fascinate because Google Search is now enabled (this is a Google phone for God’s sake), and due to Microsoft, you can actually download the Bing app from the Android Market and replace Google Search widget, to your pleasing.
Pros: That sweet, sweet Super AMOLED display., Using the Fascinate’s Touchwiz build, you can use multitouch in emails., 1GHz processor hardly lags, if at all., Crisp images when using 5 megapixel camera, especially with HD video capture., Light and sleek profile., 3G and voice roaming is extremely reliable, although probably expensive.
Cons: Regional carrier with only 26 states of service., Crapware from U.S. Cellular (about 5 apps), How long it’ll take for the Android 2.2 update.
