Depends on the needs . . .

sapphirein, Ebay

  • Summary: Samsung S8000 jet is a cute slim phone. It has very nice display with excellent colours. However I'm not satisfied with the picture quality for a 5MP camera. And it doesn't support either Skype mobile or yahoo mail. I'm not satisfied with the battery life as well. The unlock key goes crazy sometimes and have to press it for several times to unlock the phone. The sound quality of media player is also not that good.

  • Excerpt: my first impression about samsung jet is this hadphone is really awesome. i'm so happy  the time i get it. but after using it couple week i realize that the phone is so-so only. application to install very very limited. the firmware of hand phone so poor but the hardware is good. i think the software programmer for this samsung jet model is very lazy and not creative and interactive.
  • Pros: nice amoled screen
  • Cons: limited application, suck battery life

Request to Samsung, Phone Arena
10 December 2009
  • Excerpt: We, the Samsung loving folks who used our hard earned money in a time of financial crises to buy the Samsung Jet, kindly request that the good and caring people at Samsung respond in an urgent and public manner to our following concers: 1. A step by step guide on how to install route 66 and activate GPS. And we mean everything, from how to find the Navigation in the phone settings, clicking yes, restarting the phone, intalling route 66 and what to do after that.

The jet is not a smartphone

No apps for the Jet, Phone Arena
11 September 2009
  • Excerpt: The main disadvantage of this phone is the lack of applications including 3rd party applications and samsung developed applications. The only applications you have are those the phones comes with but you cannot download even 1 of the billion applications available out there. This cretainly makes it NOT a smartphone, let alone "smarther than a smartphone" as advertised by Samsung which is misleading.
  • Pros: Size, features, multemedia, performance
  • Cons: Cannot download applications, No copy/paste, No smart dialing from contacts using names, No GPS in landscape, No scientific calculator, No standard mini usb, No multi touch, No push mail, No threaded sms, No preset on/off, No compass

good little phone but technical problems

medic1985amy, Amazon
8 January 2012
  • Summary: I really liked this phone but I had a lot of problems when the screen kept freezing. I sent it back to samsung about 5 times and they never sorted it and never gave me a replacement. Now they have stopped making these mobiles. I prefer it to the galaxy ace as i found it easier to write txts and easier to use.

Good but not great

Trevor Woodward, Amazon
1 December 2010
  • Summary: For a first 'smart' phone I was wowed by the GUI and touch screen. As a phone it is clear and easy to dial. The MP3 player is good too - the sound quality equal to my Creative Stone. Video playback is good - stuff recorded from the TV and suitably converted for playback was clear and smooth-playing.

Not the best

andrew buck, Amazon
29 November 2010
  • Summary: I've had the Jet for a while and am coming up to the point of up grade with my provider. I think the problem is with Samsung I'm a gadet kind of person and when I first got it I wanted to add some apps to it but guess what .......... you cant, the app store from samsung wont let you as they are not for the Jet. However the phone itself is good Plus Points... 5 meg camera takes good photos and excellent video Calls are clear and crisp.

Owned this phone for 18 months, time to share my thoughts I think

habinbobi..., Ciao
8 October 2010
  • Excerpt: "I bought this phone on Vodafone contract 18 months ago, with high expectations and a lot of anticipation. I feel I probably have more experience with this phone than others who have had it for 2 weeks and decide to do a review. To start with it is an excellent phone. The camera quality didn't leave me wanting and the fantastic colours and vibrancy of the screen was what attracted me in the first place. The shiny, but rather plastic-y feel of the ...
  • Pros: Fantastic screen colour range, good camera .
  • Cons: Poor battery life, some buttons not working after long period of time .

Samsung S8000 Jet review.

samsterg, Ciao
12 September 2010
  • Excerpt: "I have now had this phone for more than a year, and as a whole i would have to say that i am pleased, although it is far from perfect. It has a fantastic user interface, looks wonderful, and does all you need it to and more. It has a great 5mp camera, with face/smile detection, can make fake calls (good for getting out of boring conversations !), and many, many more well thought out features, but it is just not quite durable enough. I have rarely ...
  • Pros: All the new gadgets and gizmos into one phone .
  • Cons: Doesn't last for long enough at 100% fully working condition, for it to be worth the price .
