HTC set a standard for Windows Mobile customization with TouchFLO, and last year Samsung made their entry into the market with the touting Omnia. The is now here, and a 2 has been added to the end of TouchWiz as well. This new Omnia is bigger and badder, with just about everything getting a refresh. The screen has gained half an inch- now up to 3.7” and the resolution has quadrupled to 480x800. Read more

The sub title for the original Omnia review we wrote back in August of 2008 was "something for everyone." The Omnia of last year was exceptionally well-rounded, with features to appease everyone from the multimedia fiend to the business user. This title is also perfectly fitting for the Omnia II. Samsung has made a decent successor to the original Omnia with this second version. Its features are up to speed with all the current high-end Windows Mobile devices and the price is an attractive S$898 without operator discounts. A quick check with Singapore telcos revealed that the Omnia II is going for as low as S$398 on some mid-tier price plans. Similar products from competitor HTC are at least S$200 more. Read more

There was even a software update that I thought was going to help but it did NOTHING. I have been stuck with it for 2yrs! Within the last 3mths it only works on speaker!! ***?? Opera is very slow & apps are useless. Read more

I've been waiting for a smartphone like this one for a long time, while holding to my venerable iPAQ 2215 PDA for over 6 years. I must say the Omnia II is a great successor. I had quite a lot of requirements for a smartphone: Windows Mobile platform (lots of free and commercial software available), wi-fi and bluetooth capabilities (and not curtailed, liked in the iPhone), integrated GPS, high-resolution camera and standard connections (micro-USB and 3.5 audio jack). does it have a mouse like omnia? and can we zoom in while taking pictures?
Answered by mellowyellowrs 2009-11-25:
No zoom on the camera/video. No voice commands. All bought in software to add voice command function (including MS)doesn't work with Bluetooth. Surprising and disappointing for a top of the range
