Samsung Jet/S8000 Review

best4reviews.com
17 May 2010
  • Summary: Reviewing the Jet has been a bit of a journey. Some things I love, such as the camera and the overall excellent level of usability via Samsung's TouchWiz 2.0 operating system. Regrettably it’s this OS that lets down the Jet which at times I suspect is just trying to do a little too much at once.
  • Pros: A black plastic finish that looks perfectly OK The build quality is good, phone seems good and sturdy Comfortable size in hand 5MP camera Nice bright screen Memory is expandable via micro SD card slot
  • Cons: Easy to see influence of styling from other mobiles/smartphones Touchscreen at time lacks responsiveness that one would expect. Some system lag To easy to accidentally press a side button when not wanted

Good Gear Guide.au

  • Cons: No access to third party apps, messaging speeds are a little slow, resistive touch screen rather than capacitive

Samsung Jet - First Look

Pocket Lint
16 June 2009
  • Conclusion: Samsung hasn't made a phone that can beat the iPhone, the HTC Magic, or any of the other smartphones out this summer. Its closest rival is probably the N97, but the N97's whopping storage (only 2GB on the Jet) means that it too outclasses the Samsung handset.
  • Pros: Looks great, fast processor, lovely screen, cheap
  • Cons: Let down by pointless proprietary OS and a lack of app support
