Not good as a phone, but works well as a GPS logger!

  • Summary: The Samsung Intercept was my first smartphone. It has such a small amount of RAM that even the most basic of operations takes forever. Often, when receiving a call, the phone would ring but not respond to my attempts to answer the call. Finally, the phone would spontaneously reboot. I'd end up calling the person back 5-10 minutes later. Do NOT consider this device for use as your main phone! This was Virgin Mobile's first Android phone.

  • Pros: Well, it's a smartphone. It's at least better than a flip phone. Pull-out keyboard is great for texting
  • Cons: Super slow-- up to 5 minutes to start up, takes very long time to load apps Never does what is supposed to Horrible battery life No space, most apps can't go on SD card Overheats Tiny Screen Crashes all the time Can't find WiFi

Don't even think of getting this phone.

  • Summary: I got this phone in black for Christmas. The Intercept sounds great in theory, but not when you get it. It is incredibly slow, ridiculously slow, to the point where it is almost not usable. I timed it once-- the startup time can easily take 5-10 minutes. It can't hold many apps because of the storage limit; if you buy an SD card like me, it's huge waste. Almost no apps are compatible with the SD Card.

"Garbage Phone"

Awespishus1, CNET
20 January 2013
  • Summary: That's what I call it. My "garbage phone". Seriously, I have had 4 of these phones. Virgin used to send me a new one every time something went wrong with it, and something was ALWAYS going wrong with it. Now they just laugh when I request a new one. I get more pleasure from the bags I use to clean up after my dog and, yeah, this is AFTER I have cleaned up after my dog.
  • Pros: It can be acquired cheaply
  • Cons: Just about everything

I wouldn't recommend this phone to anyone.

25 November 2012
  • Summary: Worst phone I've ever had. Constantly freezes, slow processor makes apps sluggish, a lot of bloat programs (not removable), and the updates made it worse. I seriously would not trust this phone in an emergency. Not reliable at all. I'm surprised Sprint would even support this phone anymore.

"Worst "smartphone" ever made."

CMurr790, CNET
19 September 2012
  • Pros: The pink phone is cute and has a pretty flower design on the back, it's good if you like talking on the phone and the GPS worked pretty well (when it actually worked). There are no other pros.
  • Cons: Very slow, freezes all the time, the battery life isn't that long, it will kick you offline constantly, if you get a phone call while you are online, you will get booted offline, even if you reject the call, and the phone has almost no memory.

"The worst phone ever made in history"

SuperWebb27, CNET
12 September 2012
  • Pros: Not one pro I can think of. If there were any pro's they are outweighed ten fold bythe cons. My sons Little Tikes phone has a better chance of making a phone call
  • Cons: Just about everything is wrong with this phone, i am so glad i picked this phone up on Black Friday for $40.00. Battery life is terrible i'm lucky to get a full day on a charge. Touch screen lags big time. Crappy call quality.
