Reviews and Problems with Samsung U485 / Intensity III

Tried to satisfy phablet craving with a decent basic phone. Epic fail.

Summary: Bought it because my wife 'lost' her previous phone. She dislikes the Samsung because the screen's uncomfortably small; the menu tree isn't intuitive. I haven't replaced this one yet since she won't like anything that doesn't resemble my son's phablet.
Plastic, easy to scuff screen. Put a screen protector on it asap, Gr8phone

Summary: Only draw back that we found was the screen is made of a plastic. After one week of being carried in a pant pocket (with no other objects in the pocket at the same time) the screen became very scuffed and marred the vision. Solution: as soon as you purchase your phone, put a screen protector on it. Otherwise, we loved this phone.
Summary: As my wife died recently, I had to reduce expenses due to reduced income. I traded in our Iphone to get a simple but effective phone. The Samsung Intensity III was recommended by my Verizon service rep as a basic phone that would do what I wanted. As I am retired and no longer in business, the Intensity III certainly fits my needs and significantly reduces my monthly expense.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Lightweight, easy to hodld evan with the case added
Excerpt: Unlike the previous review, I am very pleased with this phone and it has served me extremely well. The overall design of the phone is great , with the slide-out keyboard perfectly allowing for easy texting. All of the buttons are well-placed and responsive, and the screen size is quite nice. With the exception of the nearly unusable, bad camera, the phone is efficient and well designed.
Pros: Awesome Slide-out Keyboard, Decent amount of preset Tools/apps, Good Menu design/layout, Great Button Feel, SD Card Slot
Cons: Bad Camera Quality/Resolution, Practically Unusable Voice Commands, Medium quality speakers
