Summary: This phone was completely useless. GIANT PAPER WEIGHT. Waste of $40.00. The phone did not work with the sprint network as promised. Sprint said phone was useless and not part of their network. So much for that.
Excerpt: When I saw this phone - I loved it! I thought it was so neat and so different from my previous phone. I wanted the i-phone, but didn't have the at&t service, so couldn't get the i-phone. Therefore, I went with the samsung instict since at the time that was the closest thing spring had to the i-phone. For the first few months, this phone was ok...but just ok. After that, it went downhill. Ever since, one thing after another goes wrong with it.
Excerpt: I first purchased this phone within weeks of it coming out. Within a week, I started having problems with the phone... keys sticking, lights and sounds going on and off for no reason, etc. I took the phone back and the Sprint associate agreed, something was wrong. He made a few "adjustments" and said the phone should be fine. It wasn't even an hour later, and the phone was messing up again. So... I went back to the Sprint store and told them, I wanted a new phone.
Excerpt: Ths Samsung Instinct looks like a great phone but it performs horribly. 95% of the time when you try to access the live TV or streaming video it doesn't work at all. On the rare occassions it does work it is so jumpy, it skips scenes; and the picture has horrible pixilation. As for the music, they have a decent variety of songs to choose from, but they are in an indivisualized format meaning you cannot transfer them to anything but the phone itself.
I wish I had never spent the $150 on the samsung instinct

Excerpt: I was so excited when the Samsung Instinct came out but I had to wait a couple of months before I was able to buy it since my contract wasn't renewed yet. When I finally got it, it was great. It wasn't until a few months later when I realized that my dream phone really wasn't a dream. It constantly freezes on me when I am using the navigation, when I am texting it never types the letters i push but the ones beside it.
Excerpt: I WOULD NEVER EVER GET THIS PHONE AGAIN TO THE NEXT PERSON WHO LIKES IT, IT IS NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY IT FREEZE UP ALL THE TIME AND ALL THE SPRINT COMPANY WILL DO FOR YOU IS REPLACE IT WITH A NEW ONE AND IT ALSO WILL FREEZE UP ON THIS IS MY THIRD PHONE AND THE PROBLEM IS STILL THE SAME !!!!
Pros: Nothing about the Instinct is worthy of the price and it will drive you nuts.
Cons: The instinct has terrible ergonomics, a poorly located lock and voice activation that pops on randomly. It is easy with the Instinct to turn your mute on or cover the antenna, both located where your fingers go. Horrible design and wimpy battery too.
Pros: The size and weight of the phone is great. It handles calls well.
Cons: The software to this phone is absolutely horrible. At any given times (several times per day) the phone just freezes up. If you hold the OFF button it does not even work. Pointless if you ask me. You have to remove the batter for it to work again
