Samsung i8910HD Review: In Depth
11 June 2009
Excerpt: This is a big phone with big features. The Samsung i8910HD has a 3.7-inch screen (wider than the iPhone!), which looks great, plus neat, sleek styling, every function you could hope for and an 8-megapixel camera, slick touchscreen, 8GB storage and GPS.
Excerpt: H igh resolution digital cameras are no longer an exception on today's mobile phones. It started a few years ago with an integrated VGA camera, which we thought to be very innovative at the time. Currently, however, there are phones on the market featuring an 8.0 or even 12.0 Megapixel camera.
Excerpt: The i8910 popularly know as the Omnia HD is Samsung’s second handset from the same series to grace our shelves. The previous model, the i900 Omnia, didn’t fare too well in our tests when it released in September of last year. How did the upgrade do? Take a look for yourself.
Summary: Samsung has succeeded in creating the ultimate multimedia smartphone. If you have a desktop hard drive full of mixed media you wish you could take with you on the train to work, there is no better phone than the HD Icon.
Pros: Excellent AMOLED display, Best media playback options we've seen to date, DLNA and TV-out cable for media sharing, Roadsync for Outlook email, Responsive touchscreen input
Cons: Average photo and video recording quality, Standard one-day battery life, No app store to download new tools and games
