  • Excerpt: The phone offers good value for money.I recommend this phone for first time android users. UI speed is also satisfactory. One can even play HD games after rooting and using chainfire3d. But the small screen sometimes makes ypu wish you had a bigger one.

Did Not Work As Advertized

Augustus T., Newegg
25 March 2012
  • Pros: Nice looking phone.
  • Cons: Phone did not work as advertised. It claims it is unlocked but it could not recognized my T-Mobile sim card. I am returning the phone for a replacement. Hopefully it works this time.

  • Excerpt: It's definitely a better idea to spend a little more and get a better phone. Cheaper is definitely not better when it comes to the Samsung Galaxy Y. I suugest that if you are planning on purchasing this phone, please do proper research on it and have a look at the recent phone reviews conducted by cellular companies.

Good Value

Ron D., Newegg
17 March 2012
  • Pros: Low price for a WiFi equipped Android phone. Very responsive and everything seems to work well. It came with a 2GB SD card, which was not listed in the included items.
  • Cons: Small, low-resolution screen makes typing difficult. Battery life is less than claimed, even with lots of stuff shut off.

Deceptive advertising

Eric R., Newegg
12 March 2012
  • Pros: Price
  • Cons: When buying this, one would think newegg is selling a phone unlocked by the manufacturer judging by the product description. Well, this is not the case. The phone I received was only unlocked because it had been rooted. There was a business card for a company called "Brainstorm" inside the box so I am guessing newegg was just re-selling the rooted phone from this company. Newegg advertised this phone as coming with Android 2.3.5, but what I received was Android 2.3.6....
