Samsung Galaxy Y (GT-S5360) Review

Tech2
26 June 2012
  • Summary: The Galaxy Y goes for a street price of Rs.7,350, which puts it on the same lines as the Micromax A70 and the Spice Mi-350n. You might find it for a little lower in places like Delhi, however. If you want switchable back covers, then it'll cost you an additional Rs. 400. The A70 is a good phone, which we liked very much, but it’s still stuck on Froyo and there’s no Wi-Fi ‘n’, so that’s out of the running.

Samsung Galaxy Y S5360 review: Everyone's invited

GSM Arena
23 November 2011
  • Conclusion: Y stands for entry-level phones in the company's recent naming system. Phones for youths and emerging markets. The Galaxy Y is at the bottom of the Android food chain. It joins the likes of the Galaxy Mini, the Gio and the Fit at the wide base of a pyramid that eventually peaks in the next flagship. There's a long way from the Galaxy Y to the company's top earners.
  • Cons: Low screen resolution limits choice of apps, No touchscreen haptics, Fixed focus camera, No secondary camera, No camera flash, no dedicated camera key, QVGA video recording @ 15fps, No earphones in the bundle, No Adobe Flash support

Samsung Galaxy Y Review

Phone Arena
22 November 2011
  • Conclusion: There isn’t much that piqued our interest while handling the Samsung Galaxy Y , but it is a decent low-end Android handset from a brand name manufacturer. With the patterned silvery back cover and mirrored front we can even say it’s a looker, which usually evades handsets at this price point.
  • Pros: Affordable, Pleasant design
  • Cons: Low ppi count makes screen look pixelated, Subpar camera
