Fantastic small form phone with powerful dual core 1.5 GHz processor
Taco Fury, Amazon
12 September 2013
Summary: It is essentially a Galaxy S II in a smaller form. It may be a mid range phone, but they packed the same dual core S3 1.5Ghz chip and 1 GB system memory, but a 4" screen. Despite being slightly larger than the Exhibit II, it has the same resolution of 480x800. Samsung/Tmo updated the OS to Ice Cream Sandwich, which I'm sure will be the last update. I've had my Blaze for a few weeks.
Summary: bought this phone as a replacement for my aging Galaxy, what an improvement! Went from eclair to ice cream sandwich and noticed the speed was awesome it seems to be a bit more temperamental in that it's easier for calls to drop but I also live in bad signal area. where I would have to wait minutes for internet pages to load this thing does in a second or two.
it doesn't have the stupid features you don't want; has all the ones you do
13 August 2013
Summary: stupid features include "wave to pause video" and auto-pause which incidently those features only work on gallery videos. It also doesn't have an IR blaster, but if you REALLY want to use your phone as a remote, there's a harmony remote for that and i have apps for my tivo, directv box, and roku. rant: The predictive text is worthless if you can't train it to your typing style. I replaced the software keyboard with a different one.
Summary: I got this phone from T-mobile on a $30/month, 5GB unlimited text, 100 minutes plan. The plan itself was a great deal. Additional minutes beyond the first 100 are only 10 cents and at that price you can really talk for hours and hours before you get up to a comparable contract price, but you still have unlimited text, and 5gb worth of data. The phone was great too.
Pros: Browse the internet Keep track of all calls Email and text without a sliding keyboard Take pictures in pretty good quality This is an easy phone to use for even a first timer. A great and reliable android !!
Cons: The battery power is ok. About 10-12 hrs. Depending on use. The phone gets noticeably warmer after about 1hr. - 1-1/2hr. of talking.
Summary: I was hesitant to create this review as I'm unsure anyone really cares. But where custom ROMS are concerned this phone is highly supported! It has it's own forum in XDA. It's easy to ROOT and get custom ROMS like Cyanogenmod running on it smoothly. I currently have Cyanogenmod 10 on my Blaze (Andriod 4.1.2) and Cyanogenmod 10.1 (Android 4.2.2) is in the Alpha stages for this phone.
Summary: This phone is great! I was looking at getting the Galaxy S2 but decided to go with the Galaxy S Blaze because of the smaller size which is more manageable and easier to fit in your pocket. I would recommend this phone to anyone who wants a smartphone that is easy to use and does not have to lug around.
