Not a strong signal
20 May 2014
Summary: I activated this phone at home with wifi and when I went out of the house my signal was not strong so I sent it back. I have since found out that I should of turned off the wifi when activating this to get the phone to connect with local towers. My mistake.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Realistic color
Excerpt: Oh well was good until they updated from ICS to Jelly Bean and I truly think it was the update that ruined this cell. Previously it was fine for me in midrange cells like the HTC ONE V but the Update made the cell MUCH SLOWER IN BENCHMARKS, USAGE AND NOW IT HAS RANDOM REBOOT ISSUES. I sent it back to Virgin and got a New Boxed one with JB already formatted on it and it was still no good with reboots and occasional freezes.
Pros: Large 2gig User Memory, Attractive Design, Good call quality, Brilliant Display, Easy Navigation, Super customizable, Long battery life, Decent Network considering the cost
Cons: Jelly bean made it almost unusable with random reboots up to 8 times a day. Some days its OK, WHY??, Ram is just 768meg but shows just 585m after hidden apps are accounted for, Virgin Mobile has the dumbest techs on the Planet and Samsung is not much better now, Why didn't I buy the extended warranty LOL!, I'm almost sure Jelly bean needs a a dual core CPU like the Victory and that cell has NO Issues with JB, Buy the LG F3 LS720
It worked once... before the OS update then is went snail slow

Excerpt: Ok when i first bought his phone was great then there was a system update that broke it. Constent freezng where the screen becomes unresponsive, its very slow, So slow as it can take 15 seconds for the keyboard to come up for you to type anything. Oh and also random restarts wile your useing the phone or it will just power itself off with 50% battery.
Pros: works kinda
Cons: slow, camera take long time to use, freezes, random restarts and powering off
Summary: I have been using this phone for about 6 weeks now. It's my first android phone, so I was completely psyched to get it. I suppose it does the job, but the screen often freezes and I have to remove the battery to restart it. One day this happened four times in 2 hours, which was rather annoying. I've researched that issue and even replacement phones seem to do this. The phone also has the annoying habit of restarting itself randomly....
Summary: I have to do a battery pull on the phone daily, sometimes multiple times a day, because the screen completely stops working. I can run my finger over it, and nothing happens. I can use the power button to put the screen to sleep then try again, and still nothing happens. The absolute only way to get the screen to work again is to pull the battery.
Summary: I received this phone 3 days ago, and while I think it is a cool phone with nice features, I am already having some seriously frustrating issues. So far in 3 days, there have been 2 times that the touch screen just stops working. The lock screen pops up, but I cannot swipe to unlock, I press the power button to shut down and the power options show, but the screen will not let me select anything. I have had to remove the battery to restart both times.
Summary: I'm not a techie so I don't know all the lingo to describe the phone. I'll just say that for it's price range I think it's a good phone. I would give it 5 stars if it had a better keyboard. It's the worst keyboard I have ever worked with on a phone. EDIT: Since posting this review a problem developed with the phone which has led me to change it from 4 to 3 stars. This phone is not yet six months old but it's starting to have problems.
Summary: Edit August 2013: I am downgrading my experience to three stars. Here's why: After the Android update mentioned on other reviews, the phone does indeed freeze up every so often. You need to hold the power button down for a minute until it restarts itself. Of course, the phone has a panic sensor and freezes at the exact worst time when you need to make a call. The screen responsiveness is pretty mediocre; I can type better & faster on my old 2nd Generation Ipod.
Summary: I formerly had a VM Samsung Intercept with Android 2.2. The intercept was ok but the overall speed was atrocious. Upgraded to the Reverb with Android 4.0. Even with a single core, the speed is great. This phone has a good display. The extensive use of plastic helps keep the phone weight down. However, this does make the phone slippery and potentially fragile. You will definitely want to get a case and cover for this phone.
