New Android User?
13 July 2012
Excerpt: "For me, this was my first android phone. I found it was perfect as just that. There was no reason to be overwhelmed by all the features. I found it to be a great user experience. It made me familiar with the basic android features at a GREAT price. Applications such as Netflix and Youtube work perfectly, much better than any non android phone I have had in the past. The disadvantage would be the lack of a flash player. But if you're just looking ...
Summary: Only just received it, so an early review. I am brand new to smart phones so had nothing to compare it with. I searched high and low for what I considered MY ideal phone and came up with this. Being a bit more PC literate than phone I am well aware that everyone has their different favourites and no-one will agree with every choice. So far this suites me. Quick list of immediate pros and cons. Most of them already well known for smart phones in general.
Summary: it has a lot of memory, can download all the popular apps, is easy to use, would be a superb 1st time smart phone for everyone BUT and its a huge BUT the battery is beyond terrible, you cant use any of the apps for more that 2 hours without having to charge it. I need msn to chat to my partner who works away alot but without my car charger an hour is all i can hope for in a day.
Summary: I bought this mobile mainly because of the deal it came with from O2 and was not expecting too much from it however it turned out to be an excellent mobile! It has great dimensions and is very lightweight but the software is the most fun. You can get onto free wifi and download yourself some fun free apps which will keep you entertained for hours!!! It has a large storage capacity so you can take lots of pictures, download lots of apps and store music.
Pros: Excellent dimensions, good storage capacity and can get some pretty good free apps!
Excerpt: "...feeling regretful about picking the Samsung Galaxy Ace. It was only due to recommendations that I grudgingly agreed to make the purchase, just waiting for a problem to occur with the handset. I was greeted by a simplistic box, very nicely packaged, with full instructions and manuals inside. The phone itself was also very simplistic, being a small white handset, light enough to carry around in your pocket but heavy enough to not forget it's there. ...
Pros: Extremely similar to an iPhone with great features and a clear camera of good quality .
Cons: Poor battery life and requires a lot of charge (but is outweighed by the advantages) .
A Smartphone with Android features at the lowest cost
18 June 2012
Excerpt: "...android phone i bought was Samsung Galaxy Mini S5570. The price and the android operating system compelled me to go for this phone. I did not get it through a contract but just in lum sum and was not that expensive I thought. The phone is an awesome phone reason being it gives me access to to almost all the features of android and android Operating system is better than other operating systems as its different to the others and also Opensource and ...
Pros: Android OS, Memory
Cons: Battery Backup if internet in use, Freezing issue with Froyo 2 . 2 .
Samsung Galaxy Mini: The love child of the Galaxy and the Galaxy S2
15 June 2012
Summary: The Galaxy Mini is exactly that, a mini, condensed version of the Samsung Galaxy, however they are not identical in terms of functionality, performance and features. The first thing I would like to mention about this phone is the exceptionally fast internet access. Within the Galaxy range this is the basic entry level, yet it still mangages to boast broadband like speeds, allowing for faster updates.
Pros: Fast internet speeds. Perfect size. Simplicity of use
Cons: Poor camera quality with no flash. Lagging and crashing problems needing to be regularly rebooted
