The Samsung Galaxy 5 i5500 is a mobile phone powered by the Android™ platform, and features Samsung’s Social Hub which is a single contacts list on the phone that brings together all social networks, friends’ contact details and email services. Users can share updates, check statuses and contact friends from a single screen. Designed to cater to users than desire instant access to social networks the device provides them with always-on connectivity. The Galaxy 5 also features a range of personalized function such as the ability to download entertaining and applications from Android Market™, plan an event on Facebook, update their location on Foursquare or share photos on Flickr. It is customized with TouchWiz 3.0 user interface (UI), features Swype which is a text-input service that lets users draw their finger in a continuous motion over the letters on the screen to quickly form a word, and predicts the word that spelt; a 2 megapixel camera, a browser to browse the web, HTML5 and HSDPA 7.2 data transfer rates; Layar Reality Browser to overlay contextual information about points of interest and explore new locations; Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth 2.for and USB interface for synchronization with other devices. The phone also features Samsung AllShare™ which allows users to control, search, swap and play photos, and music across a full range of DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) certified Samsung devices, including notebooks and TVs. It also allows users to share videos without the hassle of connecting cables. The Galaxy 5 can also be used as a remote control for a Samsung TV or to play video games through a laptop.
