Samsung Focus 2 Review: Budget-Price, LTE-Enabled

20 July 2012
  • Conclusion: The Samsung Focus 2 offers good performance using hardware that's not exactly top-of-the line in comparison to Android phones of today (the Focus 2 has a 4-inch Super AMOLED screen, a single-core 1.4GHz Qualcomm processor, and 512MB of RAM). Windows Phone 7 dictates some of the hardware requirements for the Focus 2 which may seem to hold it back on paper, but real-world usage shows the phone is very responsive and proves the OS / hardware combination really has a lot to...
  • Pros: Reasonable price, Respectable performance, 4G LTE connectivity
  • Cons: Limited 4G LTE coverage areas, No storage expansion option, Limited Marketplace

Samsung Focus 2 (AT&T)

PC Magazine
28 June 2012
  • Conclusion: The Samsung Focus 2 is a cross between the existing higher-end Focus S and lower-end Focus Flash; it's an okay phone, but one that's tough to get excited about.
  • Pros: Pleasing mix of features and performance. Windows Phone OS is fun to use. Loud speakerphone.
  • Cons: Voice quality isn't the greatest. Doesn't stand out from other Windows Phones in any way.

Samsung Focus 2 (AT&T) Review

LAPTOP Magazine
22 May 2012
  • Summary: For $49, the Samsung Focus 2 is a pretty good deal, offering a slick interface, solid performance and 4G LTE speeds. Android fans, however, should stick with the $29 Pantech Burst , which also has 4G LTE and offers access to lots more apps. And for $49 on Amazon, those who prefer a Windows Phone can walk away with the more stylish Nokia Lumia 900, which has a better Carl Zeiss camera and a larger AMOLED screen.
  • Pros: Affordable, Solid performance, Slim and lightweight design, Fairly long battery life
  • Cons: Limited app catalog, Relatively dim display

Samsung Focus 2

19 May 2012
  • Excerpt: The Focus 2 is Samsung's first LTE Windows Phone, and it's more portable and affordable than the Nokia Lumia 900 and HTC Titan II LTE Windows Phones on ATT. The Focus 2 has a 4" Super AMOLED display running at the usual 800 x 480 resolution, and it's powered by the same 1.4GHz Snapdragon second generation CPU used in many current Windows Phone 7.5 Mango smartphones. The Focus 2 fights the popular Nokia Lumia 900 with its low $49.99 price tag with contract.
  • Pros: Affordable, colorful display and LTE 4G.
  • Cons: Not much internal storage for a multimedia phone.
