AT&T = No tethering

BJH "BJH", Amazon
24 March 2014
  • Summary: Got this phone a month ago and was using it with an AT&T plan. I switched to another carrier 31 days after buying the phone and tethering does not work. It does not matter that the phone is unlocked - tethering is disabled by an AT&T modification to Android ICS. Google "Mobile data is not available or invalid SIM" for details. Pros - [1]nice keyboard. Cons - [1]no tethering unless AT&T is your carrier.

  • Summary: I doubt if this phone is sold as new. As this phone reboots suddenly. Sometimes, i don't even receive calls (not a signal problem though).

Keyboard glitches

Maddie, Amazon
3 January 2014
  • Summary: The keyboard has tons of glitches. I have to turn off and on my phone for it to work sometimes. And the charger broke the first week of having the phone. Not only that but the battery dies so fast. I do not recommend to anyone.

Old Samsung clam owner not ready for new Samsung glide

Steven Spaner "Critic-at-Large", Amazon
17 September 2013
  • Summary: I've had my old Samsung SGH-X497 clam-type phone since Cingular days. No problems. No complaints ... except. Except I am getting more into the texting side of phoning since that is all my adult kids will pay attention to. I thought about getting an old phone with a QWERTY keyboard but also thought maybe I should make the jump to a more modern smart phone type.

good phone until it stopped working

eels, Amazon
22 February 2013
  • Summary: Bought the unlocked phone (from Tablet Distributors) and it was a Rogers (Canadian carrier) phone. Other than the minor annoyance of Roger's specific apps (probably less than what AT&T would have loaded) and the little configurations for Canada (default settings to metric, Canadian searches, etc), it seemed to be working fine with my AT&T SIM card and I was fairly happy with it.
