Summary: I bought this phone "new in box" on line. Looking at it on the computer it appealed to my love of all things unique. Upon receiving it and reading the manual so I could work it correctly,I have decided to replace it with an LG envy touch 11000. Tha samsung is not very text friendly, requiring too many steps to answer a simple text or to reply to one. Also, I cannot make the "missed call or text" alarm work at all.
Excerpt: The only complaint I have with this phone (and it is my 2nd Alias 2.. I have also owned the alias 1) The sound quality when talking to someone is terrible. Everyone sounds muffled. Luckily I text alot. However this is a VERY durable phone. I drop it constantly and it keeps working. I have dropped it in water and dried it out and it still works. It also gets pretty good reception and the battery life is great.
Summary: Pros: good keyboard layout, easy to text in both flip modes. Buttons are soft and comfortable. Good battery life. Cons: Slow switching from screen to screen. t9 is primative and doesnt learn your words very well. buttons are still very small in flip phone mode. camera/video is mediocre at best. Overall I am happy with this phone.
Summary: There are a lot of things to like about this phone. The two way hinge is genius although I am worried that it may fail after repeated use. I also love the adaptable keyboard which automatically changes from dialpad to text mode depending on which way the phone is opened. Theres also a keyboard select button that allows you to switch manually. Wi-Fi would have made this phone damn near perfect. There are a few things I must complain about.
Excerpt: I had this phone ever since August. It's an okay phone but I do have my share of problems with it. The phone has restarted itself numerous times for no reason. It has frozen and restarted while sending text messages. To me, the picture quality isn't that great. Really wish it would have a flash.
Excerpt: I dont like this phone that much. Compared to the Env3, this thing is so hard to text on. The keys are slick and slippery. This phone is slow and cant keep up with me texting. A good thing though is that this phone is built really solidly. It cant take a lot of damage. The hinge isnt fragile like you would probably think. Dont buy this just because the keys change. Oooh yay the keys change! How cool! It gets old really fast.
Excerpt: I got this phone after having an old reliable Audiovox color flip for about 5 years. The battery life was very short so it was time for a new one. The Alias 2 included a qwerty keyboard while maintaining a "clamshell" form factor. I instantly purchased it. However, I immediately noticed that the Alias's phone conversation sound quality was worse than my Audiovox (released 5 years ago...
