Summary: This was purchased to use on a T Mobile pay-as-you-go (per minute) account. We just wanted a phone to make calls and texts. The only non-smart phone T Mobile offered was cheap with a small, lousy keyboard. We got this phone, swapped the SIM cards and it worked right away. (I disabled cellular data). It's solid, with the classic keyboard. Small complaint is the lack of a camera. But for what we wanted it fit the bill perfectly.
Summary: From what I have been able to use on this BBB 9000, is good. It doesn't work with the Straight Talk AT T Compatible Standard Card. The phone is unlocked, but there no text service or internet service. You can make and receive calls, but that's about it. I will probably get a TMOBILE sim card soon.
Summary: Both of the phones appear to be carrier unlocked when I checked, though they did come as AT&T branded phones with minor AT&T bloatware. They're brand new, but this is certainly not a new model phone. The 9000 has been out for a number of years now but has always remained a solid phone (it's a BlackBerry after all) No camera on this phone which is unfortunate but not a necessity since this isn't a permanent replacement.
Summary: I must admit. Originally I tried another retailer but after TWO attempts I tried Targets site. Target is now my first choice. I ordered this Blackberry Bold 9000 and the product arrived quicker than I ever imagined, very FAST. The phone is unlocked and works with my current phone plan without having to change or renew my phone contract. The product was very well packaged no questions about it at all. The product worked like its supposed to.
The Blackberry Bold is an attractive phone with great features.

Excerpt: The Blackberry Bold is a good phone. Easy access to email, the internet, and Microsoft Office viewers make the phon a must for business users and students, alike. However, I've found the phone to be highly vulnerable to accidental damage. The phone is easily damaged by even the most minute amounts of water. The volume control button is no longer functioning, a complaint I've found to be quite common among Bold users.
Excerpt: The Blackberry Bold 9000 drops its operating system easily. The only way to repair this problem is to replace the phone. The track ball also will stop functioning. Unlike other Blackberry models, it cannot be replaced, the entire phone has to be replaced. The camera and video camera are good quality for a phone. There are a lot of applications that can be added. The biggest problem is battery life. If the phone is used even moderately it MUST be charges every day.
best phone I have ever owned. beats my previous iphone hands dow

Excerpt: I love this phone. I have had it for about 6 months and use it all day, everyday. I like that all my emails (work, personal, school) dump into one place along with my bb messages, facebook notifications and AIM messages. It is great to be able to go to one icon on my main desktop and see what is going on. I love the keyboard. I tested a curve for a few days before buying the bold and the keys are MUCH better on the bold than the curve.
