Summary: Worked exactly like my old BB. Put in the SIM chip from a foreign carrier and worked immediately. On the phone calling friends within minutes of opening the package. Highly recommend this product.
Summary: This was purchased to use on a T Mobile pay-as-you-go (per minute) account. We just wanted a phone to make calls and texts. The only non-smart phone T Mobile offered was cheap with a small, lousy keyboard. We got this phone, swapped the SIM cards and it worked right away. (I disabled cellular data). It's solid, with the classic keyboard. Small complaint is the lack of a camera. But for what we wanted it fit the bill perfectly.
Summary: From what I have been able to use on this BBB 9000, is good. It doesn't work with the Straight Talk AT T Compatible Standard Card. The phone is unlocked, but there no text service or internet service. You can make and receive calls, but that's about it. I will probably get a TMOBILE sim card soon.
Summary: Both of the phones appear to be carrier unlocked when I checked, though they did come as AT&T branded phones with minor AT&T bloatware. They're brand new, but this is certainly not a new model phone. The 9000 has been out for a number of years now but has always remained a solid phone (it's a BlackBerry after all) No camera on this phone which is unfortunate but not a necessity since this isn't a permanent replacement.
Summary: I needed the phone for working on a base in a foreign military. Phones with cameras are prohibited in our work area. The phones were exactly what I needed. My co-workers will now be ordering the same phone.
