  • Conclusion: If you don't want to pony up the money for a Motorola Droid 4, the Pantech Marauder is a decent bet for an inexpensive messaging smartphone.
  • Pros: Runs Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). Large keyboard. Good talk time. Inexpensive.

  • Summary: Everything is relative. There's times when anything less than a Super AMOLED Plus display just won't cut it. There's time when you're fortunate to get 4G capabilities. For an on-contract price of $49.99, the Pantech Marauder is everything it needs to be and has all the features it should have.

  • Conclusion: When we recently reviewed Verizon’s BlackBerry Curve 9310 , we mentioned that for the same price of $49 on-contract, there are better options. The Pantech Marauder is one of them. Not only does it have the advantage of running Android ICS, but also can use Verizon’s 4G LTE data network.
  • Pros: Affordable, Starter Mode for beginners, Android Ice Cream Sandwich
  • Cons: Poorly designed keyboard, Video recording is limited to 19 FPS, Not the fastest 4G speeds
