Summary: I realize this phone isn't really sold anymore, but just in case anyone considers picking one up on the used market... don't. Just don't. I have had this for over 2 years and can tell you that I borrow someone else's phone to make calls and I text from my computer. I have kept this in case of emergency only, but basically have lived as if I don't have a cell. I am currently in the market for a new phone I can actually use.
Summary: Take this review as a warning to never EVER buy this phone. I saw the Pantech Hotshot one day at a target store. I was there to get my first cell phone upgrade. I was eager to switch away from my cheap little LG flip phone that I had dealt with for two years. I bought the phone and almost immediately I regretted my decision. The phone was terribly designed and I wanted my old phone back. To start off with, the phone has a terrible operating system.
Pros: Fairly resistant to small impacts
Cons: Terribly Designed OS, sluggish touch screen, cheap battery, dumb plastic coating, slow camera, insignificant memory space, ads on home screen.
Summary: Can't seem to answer the calls before it goes to voicemail (it's not the setting), or it doesn't even ring and then dings to let you know you missed the call. Missed texts has no way to let you know except that your family/friends get miffed. Voicemail, missed call notice, and texts are delayed anywhere between minutes up to a day. If I'm in a building, might as well turn it off, it's just a paperweight.
Pros: Not much as a phone.
Cons: Does not work period. Calls and texts are constantly delayed or missed. Most frustrating phone to have.
Summary: This phone is only good for talking. The virtual keyboard is so non-precise that I have to text with 1 finger which is VERY annoying. I also cannot sync to my computer to download my music or ringtones. It doesn't have wifi which is just so ancient. VERY limited use. I'm getting a different phone, and giving this one to my husband who only uses his phone to talk. DON"T BUY ONE. You will be very sorry. Spend a little more and get a real phone.
Summary: This phone is horrible. Do not buy it. As soon as my plan runs out I will get rid of it. It runs on slow software that is extremely unresponsive. My microwave is faster than this hunk of junk. Everything you can download, music, videos, apps, everything, is at least five times more expensive than on the App Store or the Android Market. I hate it and everyone about it. Do not buy it.
Pros: Extremely light, 3.5 mm audio jack
Cons: Extremely slow, The only apps you can download are from the awful Verison store, Texting is impossible, Unresponsive, Data is expensive, might as well get a smartphone, Changing volume is difficult
This is a horrible phone would not recommend this phone to my worst enemy

Summary: This is not a good phone. It seems that the only time the touch screen works is when you touch it inadvertently. It keeps dropping of the bluetooth in our car and our gps. The touch key pad is hard to use. I never had these problems with my old phones. I only use it to call or text. I could not imagine having to use this phone with a data package.
Summary: My most hated phone ive ever used. Laggy response when i touch the screen, not smooth at all. The phone is the oppposite of intuitive. It doesnt have SEND or END buttons, requiring you to navigate the slow touchscreen to end a call (which may require a few steps mid-call to see the end call option), or to see your recent calls, or to send a text message without having to navigate to different screens. The phone is just a big inconvenience to use.
Summary: I just upgraded this phone today from my LG Cosmos (second worse phone I've ever had). Within two hours I went online and ordered a new and completely different phone. The first thing I noticed right away is once you unlock the phone the menu doesn't disappear. You don't have a home screen with your own picture unless you're looking at the screen before you unlock the phone. I hate that because to me the screen looks cluttered with icons I'll never use.
Pros: -Camera is nice, -3.5mm jack, -Display is crisp, -Favorites are easy to access
Cons: -Touchscreen lags, -Texting in T9 is horrendous, -Texting on the horizontal view is terrible as well, -Can't change the menu from being the main focal point (I'll explain)
Excerpt: I bought two of these fron Amazonwireless.com because they were inexpensive. In this case that actually translates into CHEAP. The signal reception was so poor on these phones that Verizon tech could not get either of them to activate. A waste of time and money placing this order. My old Razrs both work with the available signal, the tower is 600 yards away, and verizons only fix for the tinkertoy is for me to pay $150 for a network extender. How lame is that?
