Summary: I purchased this phone when it was new technology (2012). And I'm still using it today. I never buy anything without researching it to-death. I compared the Pantech Discover against the HTCs and Samsungs available when all were brand new. I choose the Pantech because it had the best stereo speakers (at the time 2012). Today: The device does get a little hot (with gel-rubber case), but has not turned itself off due to heat.
Summary: The phone itself is good and meets expectations for a budget phone. Here is a helpful review www.engadget.com/2013/01/19/pantech-discover-review/ . Note that the phones I received from SeriousDeals were NOT UNLOCKED as the item title says. Be sure to know your options for unlocking the phone if that's important to you.
Summary: I can't use the tethering function. ATT has permanently disabled it. I even called and was told it won't work unless I have an ATT plan which allows tethering. Why say unlocked when you can't tether? The camera is great as well as the video ability.
Summary: This phone was pitted against the flagship's of the day. The Discover came off the Victor, or very close 2nd to the likes of Samsung's S III. I buy them as gifts for my customers, family, and close friends who are looking for a really pleasant experience...
Good android phone with high value and lower price & high MP camera
1 August 2014
Summary: Good android phone and especially with the "Easy" and Standard preference so that no matter how skilled you are you can use it with ease. CONS: mediocre battery life because you can't get rid of many of the battery hungry Google apps + if you happen to be on Cons Cellular it's next to impossible to get media messaging.
