jjd "jjd", Amazon

Summary: Pantech Crossover phone itself is a decent phone. Not an iPhone, not a Galaxy III, but absolutely usable phone for low end 'smart-ish' phone. I purchased two of them to take on a vacation so that our higher-end phones wouldn't get lost/damaged @ beach and on our adventures. Worked perfectly for that use. Voice quality great. Texting great. Hardware nice. Solid feeling, keyboard nice. Touch screen nice.
Pros: If I turn off 3g and wifi I can actually make a phone call quicker.
Cons: SLOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG I thought these were supposed to be like a mini computer. I have never seen a phone lock up so much that you can't even make a phone call! My wife doesn't have the problems with her I-Phone as I have with this one.
Do not buy! - No $25 airtime credit, old phone plan
18 August 2012
Summary: DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE!!! The phone doesn't come with the $25 air time credit as indicated on amazon. And the phone plans for this type of phone are the older type offered by AT&T. You need to spend $50 for the unlimited phone calls and text and an additional $25 for the data package (internet). Setup is a pain and you will need to go online to do it. Go with T-Mobile, way cheaper, only $35 for unlimited everything, and you can get a cheaper phone that works just as good.
Summary: I have the same experience with ATT and the dozens and dozens of others who bought this product. ATT does not provide the $25 airtime credit upon activation as promised and there is absolutely no way that I can find to get a live person on the phone to discuss it with. The entire ATT gophone system is automated and you will get nowhere with ATT trying to resolve the issue. They are a horrible company that deserves the horrible reputation that they have.
