Pantech Breakout (Verizon Wireless)

  • Summary: If you don't give a whit about the camera or video, the Pantech Breakout is a fast and straightforward Android handset for Verizon.
  • Pros: The Pantech Breakout runs on Verizon's 4G LTE network. Android 2.3 Gingerbread is dressed up with a handy custom UI, and the phone has good call quality.

Pantech Breakout Review

Phone Arena
6 October 2011
  • Conclusion: When it comes right down to it, the Pantech Breakout is clearly for someone who wants a Verizon 4G smartphone, but without spending a few hundred bucks on one. We like that it’s thin and lightweight, and feels comfortable in the hand, through the 4 function buttons on the front are a bit awkward to use. The 4” display is a bit smaller than its competition, but this also allows for the phone to be smaller too, which some people prefer.
  • Pros: Good 4G data speeds, Thin and easy to carry, Low cost
  • Cons: Camera isn’t that great, Limited 150MB for app storage, Below average battery times

Pantech Breakout

MobileTechReview.com
6 October 2011
  • Conclusion: We're happy to see Pantech move up in the market, and the Breakout is a solid mid-range Android smartphone with LTE. Though the phone sometimes lags a bit and 4G LTE speeds don't match top dog phones like the Bionic, it is currently one third the price with contract. The phone has a sharp display, runs Gingerbread and has dual cameras. But you make a few sacrifices for the price.
  • Pros: Affordable 4G LTE Android smartphone.
  • Cons: Slower data speeds vs. other Verizon LTE phones.
