The Treo 750 combines the Palm experience of a multifunction mobile phone with email, messaging, web browsing, organization software and a robust application portfolio with Cingular's next-generation 3G network. Its new compact design features an internal antenna, soft-touch finish, and contoured edges to make it comfortable in the hand. However, the the 750's full QWERTY keyboard is cramped and hard to use, with keys so crowded and close together that it's easy to press the wrong button when typing with your thumbs. However, they are adequately backlit for composing e-mail in dark environments. The Treo 750 also has a 1.3-megapixel camera, a bright 240 x 240 px touch screen and support for Bluetooth stereo headsets. As far as voice features, the Treo 750 is a quad-band world phone, so users can use the phone overseas. Other features include a robust address book, speakerphone, voice commands/dialing, a vibrate mode, speed dial, dial by name, and text and multimedia messaging. The Treo 750 can now do threaded chat, which gives users more of an instant-messaging experience.

The smart phone works with Cingular's TeleNav GPS Navigator service, so it can become a handheld navigation device. On the downside, there is no Wi-Fi integration. For e-mail, the Treo 750 supports both corporate and personal accounts. As for Web browsing, loading Web pages varied depending on the site and the complexity of its homepage. With Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC Phone Edition, users get a desktop-like experience on their Treo 750, including access to mobile versions of Windows Media Player 10, Internet Explorer, and Outlook applications in addition to the ability to view and edit Microsoft Word and Excel files and view PowerPoint and PDF files. The 750's touchscreen combined with control buttons and keyboard worked very well with the Windows interface. Both the camera and music capabilities were par for the course. Pictures were good enough for smart phone usage, with decent but not great color on the 1.3-MP camera. Music sounded fine on regular headphones, and we like that you can easily download music on the spot and take it with you. The ability to use stereo Bluetooth headphones is also a nice touch. The built-in 60 MB of user-available storage can be enhanced by using the miniSD slot to add up to 2 GB of memory. For business users who need lots of connectivity options, the Palm Treo 750 is perfect.
