  • Excerpt: I know, you love device photos as much as I do and while I hadn't had too much time for my first series of photos on Tuesday, today I've spent my second 30 minutes with the recently released Palm Treo 500v to snap some more photos for you. Unfortunately I don't have a device yet to review it here, but I got promised to get one soon that I can follow up with a review ASAP.

  • Excerpt: During today's Palm Press Conference in Munich, I had the first chance to get my hands on the brand new Palm Treo 500v, which Palm announced today for some parts of Europe and South Africa. One thing in advance, Palm and Vodafone are targeting the consumer mass-market with the device and therefore it cannot compete with similar Windows Mobile Smartphones like the Samsung SGH-i600 which has a better feature-set but is also more expensive.

  • Excerpt: Okay, beside taking the time to make some photos of Palm's new Treo 500v, I had also some time to record a couple of videos to give you a better impression and overview how Vodafone's new Palm looks and feels. As you can see in the video bellow, the Treo 500v isn't that big and I would say it's similar sized to the Samsung SGH-i600 or the original Motorola Q.

VIDEOVIEW: Hands-on Video of the new Palm Treo 500v Home Screen Navigation

theunwired
14 March 2011
  • Excerpt: While the new Treo 500v doesn't includes too much customized software, as we have seen it before with the Palm Treo 750 and 750v, the Treo 500v features one innovation which is a completely redesigned Home screen layout and menu structure. It's quite similar to the Samsung SGH-i600 Home screen carousel but it's different. First of all, the Home screen main navigation is left/right not up/down where tasks can be selected by navigation up/down later.

VIDEOVIEW: Unboxing the Palm Treo 500v Windows Mobile 6 Standard Smartphone

17 December 2007
  • Excerpt: Today I'm finally going to unbox the new Palm Treo 500v , Palm announced three weeks ago and which I've received late last week already. But due to some other press events and bank holiday in Germany, I hadn't found the time to unbox it before. Anyway, Palm's new Treo, which is exclusively on sale from Vodafone, is quite an interesting device because it's Palm's first Windows Mobile 6 Standard smartphone which means it misses a touch screen but it's a "regular" phone...

REVIEW: Palm Treo 500v Windows Mobile 6 Standard Smartphone

theunwired
17 December 2007
  • Excerpt: For two weeks, I had the pleasure to test Palm's new Treo 500v smartphone which the American PDA veteran introduce mid last month. The Treo 500v marks a quite historical milestone in Palm's long history since it is the first non-touchscreen device because it's using Microsoft's Windows Mobile 6 Standard instead of the previously used Windows Mobile Professional (aka Pocket PC Phone Edition). Therefore, I was even more curious how the device performs.
