The Palm Pre Plus is a mobile phone designed in a black form factor that runs the Palm webOS™ platform and utilizes dual-band CDMA2000 with 3G EvDO Rev A network bandwidth. The phone features a 3.1-inch multitouch screen with a 24-bit color, 320x480 resolution HVGA display, slide-out physical QWERTY keyboard, and supports Microsoft® Exchange email with Microsoft, Direct Push Technology, POP3/IMAP (Yahoo! Mail, Gmail™, AOL, Hotmail®, etc.) email function, integrated IM, SMS, and MMS, built-in GPS, a 3-megapixel camera with LED flash, extended depth of field, and geotagging; accelerometer, ambient light, and proximity sensors; and supports MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, AMR, QCELP and WAV audio format, as well as MPEG-4, H.263 and H.264 video format. The Palm Pre Plus also features Wi-Fi 802.11b/g connectivity with WPA, WPA2, WEP and 802.1X authentication; Bluetooth® wireless technology 2.1 + EDR with A2DP stereo Bluetooth support, 16GB (~15GB user available) memory, USB mass storage support and is powered by a battery that provides up to 5.5 hours talk time and 350 hours standby time. Users can charge the phone via its charger/microUSB connector with USB 2.0 Hi-Speed, and listen to music via the phone’s 3.5 mm stereo headphone jack. The Palm Pre Plus measures 59.5mm (2.3 inches) x 100.5mm (3.9 inches) x 16.95mm (0.67 inches) and weighs 138.5 grams (4.89 ounces).

Features

The Palm® Pre™ Plus features a touchscreen, full keyboard, and the Palm webOS™ platform, which gives users the ability to run multiple applications at once. The Palm webOS is an operating system designed around the web and the way a user utilizes it. Users can stay connected to web-based information, via email address from Microsoft® Office Outlook® or a Google™ calendar event; and group similar things together so that all information can be accessed quickly. The phone can also be utilized as a 3G hotspot for up to five devices, providing broadband Internet access for a laptop and letting friends or co-workers connect at the same time. Other features on the Palm Pre Plus include compatibility with a Touchstone™ Charging Dock, Wi-Fi connectivity to connect to a company network; GPS capability for turn-by-turn direction to desired locations and Over-the-air (OTA) software which updates the phone with the latest enhancements. Users can create a Palm profile which allows them to back up their phone automatically each day and erase data remotely if the phone is lost or stolen.
