First impression was good, have been disappointed since
4 April 2012
Summary: I really liked my Palm Pre 2 once I received and got used to it. I was positively surprised by webOS's functionalities of multitasking, switching between windows and its gestures and handling in general - even if not totally precise at all times, it is good and intuitive.
Pros: - webOS handling (gestures), - webOS is able to multitask, - hardware keyboard, - quiet stable and robust (has fallen down two or three times with a result of no more than a few scratches)
Cons: - too few apps are available, - homebrew patches often mess up with system patches, - no on-screen keyboard, - slide-mechanism takes away some stability, - experienced a lot of bugs and errors over the 1,5 years of usage

Summary: This version works better than the old one, but the mobile hot spot costs extra to use where it was free in the older version. I don't really like the phone. I got it for the free mobile hot spot that now I have to pay for, so I will be getting something else as soon as I can.
Summary: If you are new to the smartphone arena and are not quite sold on a complete touchscreen device then this is the phone for you! This Palm Pre 2 phone has a peppy 1ghz chip along with a querty keyboard. It also has wi-fi and the "gateway OS" to all smartphones: WebOS. It is not the most complex OS but it is a stable OS. As far as the actual phone goes it feels right at home at the Palm of your hand(no pun intended). It is small and nicely curved.
Summary: This is the second time I have reviewed this phone. My first review was never approved, even though I rated the phone as four star. Since I have seen far more critical reviews elsewhere, I suspect that critical reviews do not get approved by Amazon. As a phone, this device is fine. At a smartphone, it could be better. First off, bluetooth file transfer is not possible. The word processor and spreadsheet applications are read only.
Summary: The OS is very easy to use and the screen quality is excellent especially for watching YouTube videos. However, the build quality is not as good as it should be with a very flimsy feel to the slider mechanism including a substantial amount of lateral play when closed. Also the phone constantly drops calls and no matter how many times the firmware is reset or the phone "repaired" is still occurs. This is apparently a frequent issue with this handset.
