pALM pIXI 8 GIG CELL PHONE, GLAD IT WAS A SPRINT FREEBIE
9 September 2012
Excerpt: I wanted a touch screen phone. I opted for the deal sprint had for the freebie. Man I glad it was free. I would be incensed if I would have had to pay for it. The touch is too sensitive, instructions suck to say the least. Contact list has to be added manually, it syncs all your facebook friends, which is a pain. Simple to use NOT! I can't wait until I can get the 4g droid the new hero.
Excerpt: Got this to replace a blackberry and I could not be more thrilled, wtfever poeple are complaining about the sound for for is beyond me, it has the easiest volume knob of any phone, and if my 87 year old mother can hear from five rooms away when I get an email, that is plenty loud enough, and I have it on the lowest volume, if you are deaf, don't buy a cell phone, it plays music louder than my ipod, and with better sound quality than my computer!
Excerpt: Before I got this phone, I had the Palm Pre, and loved it. When the Pixi came out, I decided it was more my style (more streamlined, compact), and went to Sprint to get it. I really liked it at first, but now after having it for about 6 months, I truly cannot wait to get a new phone. I do not consider myself "technologically savvy" in the least, so I am kind of writing this from a "regular" persons perspective! First off, there are some good things about this phone.
Pros: Lightweight, fit sleekly in pockets, I often forgot I was carrying it around. Camera is good if you can keep a steady hand. Video/audio quality is good
Cons: Initially missing a lot of basic settings like being able to assign messaging ringtones to contacts, the enter button on keyboard sends messages (placed right above the backspace button) so I was constantly sending messages on accident. Almost immediately
Cons: The phone's rubber backing started to come off. On occasion the touch screen is unresponsive. Now when I plug it in to charge, the screen goes bonkers, puts me in airplane mode, etc. I've had the phone for 9 months, and it's falling apart.
"Good first smart phone, but it can be complicated."

Pros: Phone has a great operating system once you get used to it. Its web browsing is pretty fast too as well. Great at multitasking. I've dropped this phone a few days ago from a pretty heartbreaking height and there are no scratches to be found!
Cons: Speaker is not loud enough. Small keyboard makes texting a challenge. Rubber backing had to be replaced shortly after buying this phone. GPS signal is very glitchy. Very disappointing battery. Voice command and camera zoom are missing in action.
Pros: It was very easy to use and it surfed the web nicely.
Cons: I never droped it or anything I began to have problems the phone kept freezing and giving me messages like "too many cards open at once" when I didnt have anything open, it would not let me save contacts into my phone.
"Phone malfunctioned - replaced with bad REFURBISHED!"

Pros: Phone is nice phone, smart, keypad is TOO SMALL and hard to use though. Fun but slow to respond, lots of delays. Seems to spend a lot of time 'working'. Might be better off with the full Palm. Camera isn't very good. I wouldn't buy it again.
Cons: VERY DISSATISFIED with Radio Shack and Sprint. Phone malfunctioned after 45 days, making me accept a refurbished phone - which immediately malfunctioned. Sprint not willing to give me a replacement new phone 75 days into contract. I hate Sprint.
