I would not trade my N97

Charles Waugh, Amazon

  • Summary: OK, so I have seen some reviews that complain about the OS (and I can't figure why that matters, because the phone is easy to use anyway) and the screen that goes out after 90 seconds (but you can reset that time). This is an excellent product. Want the screen on out of power save mode?

To Help "Secoh"

  • Pros: Although Nokia does not support a lot of languages officially and they the phones you buy within US are locked for mostly English, you can use Nemesis Suite to manipulate your phone and change it so that next time you update your phone (or just reinstall firmware) through Ovi suite, it will chang...

Excellent Navigation Phone

Joseph C., Newegg
17 April 2010
  • Summary: My only nag is that N97 mini is a little slow with satellite locking when only using its built in GPS. I have a Bluetooth GPS receiver from my old TomTom application that I used with my old Palm Treo, and I use this in conjunction with the built in GPS receiver and have no problems now.
  • Pros: Excellent build quality, feels that you got what you paid for. OVI Maps Turn by Turn Navigation for FREE!!! Text messages spoken back, and a better speech application than my Blackberry Curve. I had been reading a lot of reviews about the N97 mini since Nokia decided to give OVI Maps Turn by Turn...
  • Cons: Have to wait a while for the GPS to lock onto Satellites before you can start the Navigation Program, and it has a hard time doing this inside.

  • Summary: "I hold no blind loyalty to N97, nor did I to my 9210, 9300, or 9500. But while I have a N97 in my pocket I'll remain true to the Brotherhood. My N97 is my best friend. My relationship is currently on hold while I accustom myself to everything that the N97 can offer me.

  • Summary: "Like the majority of reviews on here, at first I was in total agreement - when 1st released this phone was doggy doo doo. Here's the good news, update the software via Nokia and all your niggles and gremlins are gone, so much so this mobi kicks Ass.

Hail to the King

Richard C., Newegg
3 March 2010
  • Summary: If you are looking to use your phone to play video games, look elsewhere, otherwise, this phone is a multimedia powerhouse. It has 32GB built in and takes another 16GB in the microsd slot (I hear they're releasing a 32GB microsd card soon, bringing the total possible storage capcity up to 64GB) - no...
  • Pros: Feature packed: unmatched storage capacity, multitasking, FM radio/transmitter, 5MP camera with dual-led flashes=outstanding pictures, wifi, great web browsing (also can use Opera and Skyfire), Ovi maps & google maps, full keyboard, unlocked carrier, open software platform, industry standard micr...
  • Cons: Processor is slow, software prior to 2.x is buggy, resistive touchscreen not as good as capacitive, no h.264 video playback (as of right now), limited applications compared to Apple or Blackberry, fold-out keyboard makes it hard to find a decent case.
