Great, but very old device

DAVID W., Amazon
14 December 2014
  • Summary: Excluding it's lower speed HSPA (closest you can get to 4G without LTE) this device is very fast by cellular. Publicly available is a community driven update which I grabbed too early to comment on (my review would be flawed compared to others for CSSU -you can search for this and look for the word Maemo). The built in FM Transmitter works extremely well. The built in WiFi is very early so it does not include the more recent 5.8Ghz frequency, only 2.4Ghz.

One of the best devices ever made

G. Gonzalez, Amazon

  • Summary: Nokia was years ahead of the rest with this device and anybody who uses Debian would love it. It may not have many of the modern features and development is slower since this device has been discontinued but you will never find another device like it unless the upcoming Ubuntu phones gain traction. This phone takes a bit of know-how to tweak to perfection and if you have the ability then it is very much worth it.

it deserves 10 star rating

  • Summary: i have never been so satisfied with any nokia phones and i had several before i bought this one. 4 years i have it and i am still using it. it has great camera that shoots nice photos, touch screen is flawless, i don't even calibrate it. it is durable (dropped it several times no scratch). i have seen people install windows xp on this device somehow, not mentioning meego. but this matters if you like to tease your phone a bit.

  • Excerpt: ive been using this phone for 3 years, and believe me if nokia bring another meamo os, i'd but it without any hesitation, but it went for WP.. and there no phone in the market that tempts me enough to leave this amazing phone, espescially the android os phones for the UI its the best, and multi-tasking is real cool it should have got better specifications, like CPU, Touch Screen, Screen Resolution, RAM...
  • Pros: qwerty keyboard, multi-tasking, good camera but not that excellent
  • Cons: battery life, usb port is fragile, low processor

Amazing Phone - A Techie's Dream

Isaac, Amazon
20 March 2011
  • Summary: First of all, I should start out by saying that I am a software developer, and all of my personal computers run linux. I wanted a phone that matches my status as a total geek, and the N900 is exactly that. It runs ARM Debian as the operating system, making it simple to program applications for. Unlike Android, which just uses the linux kernel, the N900 can run a full linux desktop with any program you can imagine!

It's like a mini computer instead of a mobile.

rikky, Phone Arena

  • Excerpt: I found everything which i expected from it. It has a great camera with crispy picture quality and sharp and vivid video quality. The internet browser and the IM feature made me to use this device still today. I know the battery life is less but for me it is nice. Moreover it depends on the uses of the mobile. It's processor is ARM Cortex A8 (600 MHz) which provide fast performance. Overall the phone is awesome.
  • Pros: I like everything
  • Cons: i dislike nothing
