Incredible potential. Substandard execution.

Kevin Nicholls "jaded, aging hipster", Amazon
8 September 2010
  • Summary: I pre-ordered my N900 the moment I found out about it, back in September. And I patiently waited, and waited, while watching every demo, preview, and review I could find. With each passing day, I knew I was closer to mobile bliss. And one day, my N900 arrived. Sadly, it didn't really deliver.

Lots of promise, but will it be fulfilled?

tonygeno "tonygeno", Amazon
25 February 2010
  • Summary: I received the N900 today and have been playing with it for several hours. I find the form factor to be fine and like the heft. If feels solid in your hand. Others have done a good job of discussing the pros and cons of this device: it's got a great web browser, it's easy to zoom and enjoy the full...

Good but not there yet froze a lot returned & got a nexus one

PGram, Amazon
8 January 2010
  • Summary: Ok here we go. The keyboard was small not wide enough so it had me wanting my G1 badly. Touch screen is not super smooth you need to apply a bit of pressure. Apps oh wait what apps? lacks content for now. App download area is very ugly. May look better in upgrade who knows.

It's not that bad

LEO "God bless America!", Amazon
23 December 2009
  • Summary: The package did not come with any air bags not even a box....which suprised me a lot. Luckily the phone was fine. As for the product, I think it's more about Nokia instead of Amazon. The product is really an unfinished product but definitely the product I'd like to taste the fresh.

Nokia N900...

22 February 2012
  • Conclusion: The N900 might not be an iPhone killer, and it might not be a perfect Netbook/Phone combo yet, but with the Maemo operating system Nokia has laid the groundwork for a great range of devices in the future. Read more here: Gearburn review
  • Pros: At first glance the N900 seems impressive. It has a 600MHz Arm Cortex CPU, 256MB of ram and 32GB of onboard storage, with a high resolution, crystal clear 3.5in screen. Naturally, it also has all the basics for a smartphone of this calibre, which means 3G, Bluetooth 2.0, USB connector, and 802.11...
  • Cons: Firstly, it feels very plasticky, almost like the inside of a Corsa Utility van. Apart from the nice smooth screen the rest of the N900 just doesn’t feel solid.
