The Nokia N9 is a solid phone and MeeGo is a nice little platform. With the swipe gesture at its core, the Nokia N9 brings a neat concept to the table: the button-less phone, or “pure-touch” as Nokia calls it. Of course Google adopted this concept with Ice Cream Sandwich but the Nokia N9 was there already. Read more

This particular review of the Nokia N900 was done keeping in mind the multi-faceted nature of the device, and how it would appeal to both general consumers and geeks. We will therefore be putting up another review very soon, where the N900 is seen from the perspective of a power user, developer or code-savvy individual. Read more
We had our fair share of minor annoyances with the Maemo 5 and the operating system at this stage is still very raw. It feels more like a work-in-progress rather than one that's ready for primetime. That said, the N900 may still win the hearts of early adopters and the tech-savvy crowd, but it probably isn't meant for the mainstream user. Read more
The Nokia N9 is a great device featuring MeeGo “Harmattan” build. This i s the first buttonless device from Nokia coming with great Swype technology and great features. It comes with interesting color options and seems to be cheaper than most of the other smartphones with the same features. Nokia has promised to release updates for its only MeeGo-based device, so you shouldn’t be afraid that the smartphone will be forgotten. Read more
All in all, the N900 is probably a grower, but you'll have to put in a lot of effort to fully appreciate it. Its size is a really prohibitive factor and one that might put a lot of people off, not to mention the keyboard which makes typing emails and text messages a bit of a pain. It incorporates an impressive range of features and its high speed processing is a real boon, so once you get used to the size and are familiar with the navigation, we can imagine the N900... It's been over an year I have my Nokia N900 and I still love to own one. N900 is a phone with very nice features and the best for me is the x terminal. I being a Unix guy, I love this phone which has a Linux background. It's easy to gain root access and do all sort of scripting and testing which you do on a platform box or a server. I also got the Easy Debian setup on the phone which is like running a virtual OS. Read more
A monster of communication. Have spent a lot of time with Windows Mobile phones, so have not spent much time with a touch-screen phone. The camera is very good. Like many other DSLR users, I am always wondering whether it is worth it to lug my 3 pound camera with me. This phone provides good enough pictures for ad-hoc snap shots. Read more

The Nokia N900 appears to be either a prototype release too soon or just an act of negligence on Nokia's part. It is an item that is so sub par that it is not of merchantable quality...here's why. First, the battery does not make it through the day on a full charge. On standby (without a SIM card in the telephone and no use at all) it lasted less than two days. Read more
