Summary: "The phone screen freezes at times. Can't switch it off. Need to remove battery to get it working again. Recently. on eof the buttons was not working so sent it for repair. Having said that the camera images and videos are superb. Hiwevre, the image/video capture button could have been placed in a better position. Speaker volume leaves much to be desired! Thinking of switching to an iphone for internet features.
Summary: "Rubbish phone. Freezes a lot, especially when playing videos. Decides when it wants to turn off or on. Slow to do almost anything. GPS is good with speed alert, camera is quite good, but for 8.1 Mp not as good as expected. Quite a fiddly phone to find things in, complicated. Apps dont shut down when you exit. you have to manually exit them, This wears out the battery life way faster than you'd expect.
Summary: I have to start by saying that I actually like the Symbian operating system. It lets you look under the hood and you're not locked into the Apple/Google world. But you will decide on your own whether that's an issue or not. I'm writing about this phone as a someone who hoped to replace my Nokia N8. The camera IS fantastic. The world will discover this when Nokia puts it in their Lumias later this year.
Summary: Mobile phone produced in Vietnam with american language. *By Flashing the O/S to install a french O/S i may never use again the mobile phone. I would have preferd being informed about that before buying it.
Summary: I have been using the nokia N8 before i got me this one. Honestly, this phone is all about the camera apart from that, nothing else. I found out that i enjoy my N8 more than the 808 pureview. If you are a photographer, this phone is for you.
Summary: The device I received could not charge reliably through the micro USB connector without fiddling with the plug and holding it in a particular position. The auto focus on the video was non existent and on the stills was highly inaccurate. Very disappointed because the phone. if working properly would have been what I wanted.
Summary: Purchase Date March of 2010 I've been a Nokia fan for several years, since the monochrome days, but I think they have lost me as a customer for good. I have the N86 8MP which suited me for what I needed. I was quite impressed with all of the features but the biggest issue I have with the phone is the ear piece. The volume seems to diminish over time. I called Nokia and I had to ship the phone in for evaluation.
Summary: Had this phone for over a year now and can't wait to dispose of it !!!! Unfortunately gotta wait for contract to end in 10 months time !!! It's really getting on my nerves....I've already changed the battery once but the power still runs out quick...this phone is full of software glitches and really not worth getting at all !!! I only use it for calls & texts (and calender) and have taken all other precautions to preserve battery power but it's still crap!
Pros: Good camera (& flash), alarm, calender, texting....
Cons: Battery life (even after switching to 2G) and it keeps freezing and turning off suddenly which makes it really unrelliable!!!!!
Summary: A fairly heavy phone for what it is. Also has a very dodgy charging point. I got one of these on contract about 12 months ago. In that time it has been to have the charger point replaced/repaired 3 times. I got so fed up of it I resorted to not using it. I started using it again 2 weeks ago and here I am. Overseas, with only that phone and BANG charging point comes off again. So now overseas with no phone. Very poor and I won't be using it again! Up for sale shortly!
Summary: The N86's sound quality is, unfortunately and surprisingly, very poor. I tried two handsets from O2: I sent the first back because I couldn't believe a Nokia handset could sound so tinny, small, risible, both in call quality and loudspeaker. The second handset (brand new) was equally terrible.
