The N80 is an addition to Nokia’s N series and is a Symbian smart phone with a huge assortment of features. Users are likely to be impressed by the gorgeous 2.2-inch, high-resolution display at first sight. The phone comes with a 3-megapixel camera and a secondary self-portrait VGA camera. The primary camera can shoot at five resolutions, zoom in up to 20x digitally and provides a boatload of customization options for users to tweak every bit of detail about the pictures. It can also record video and still provides a ton of tools for editing the clips. Also included are a number of corporate features like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and basic PIM capabilities. It also supports POP3 and IMAP accounts and lets users view Microsoft Office documents. For entertainment, audio and video players are equipped, which playback a variety of formats.

The N80 performs respectably in most areas and has stirred just a few generic complaints among critics. The image quality is not exactly exceptional, but is very satisfying for a camera phone. Test runs at CNET showed good call quality with echo being the only major source of disturbance. The speakerphone is excellent and calls show no drop in quality when it is used. Browsing the web through the N80 is a very pleasurable experience. Nokia’s Symbian-based browser loads websites quickly and performs well without any quirks. Talktime and standby are about average, but are adequate. Weighing the N80’s features and drawbacks, it has to be said that the phone is an excellent performer and packs an astounding set of features. It is highly recommended for anyone who can afford the rather hefty price.
